waking up to faint chattering, she looked around and daylight was what she saw.
the sun was up high in the sky, accompanied with its companion - clouds surrounding the sun. the sun was in a sea of blue sky, o' what a pleasing sight to see.
she approached the door , leaning against to door to have a better grasp on what they were saying. the closer she stood the clearer the mumbles became - the faint chattering soon was being made out by chaeri into actual words.
"how'd you find her?" a voice from a male was what she heard, his tone of curiosity yet a slight tone of happiness and excitement could be heard.
"i found her asleep." the other voice replied , it seemed as though it was a proud achievement made by him.
"wow, bro you're lucky ." the male gasped , chaeri pushed her ear closer to the door. she didn't know what they meant, shouldn't she be a burden instead of a reward?
"i'll check if she's awake." before chaeri could back away from the door, the door flung open, catching her off guard as she fell to the group producing a thud.
she held onto her cheek which got hit first when the door was opened, rubbing it gently hoping it'd ease the pain.
"a-are you okay?!" hendery crouched down as he helped chaeri off the floor. her awareness arose as she quietly studied his every move.
"oh yeah, i haven't got your name yet. i'm hendery." hendery introduced himself, maybe he was just trying to be friendly and therefore, chaeri went along with the flow and shook his hand.
"i'm chaeri." she smiled, though it seemed sincere, he knew she was suspicious of them, finding it odd that they helped her find shelter and food without any agenda.
"don't worry, we've helped you because we genuinely wanted to. we have no motive of gaining anything from doing so." hendery reassured , lucas crept up behind hendery, giving a hard slap onto his back causing hendery to yelp in pain.
"bro, let's hunt." lucas exclaimed enthusiastically, squeezing hendery's shoulder tightly as he signalled something chaeri couldn't pick up to hendery.
hendery nodded, waving goodbye to chaeri before leaving her room to gather his hunting supplies which included his belt that carried many weapons.
"that's odd..." she observed them from a far as they whispered something to each other, she squinted her eyes but shook off the thought .
"i should just be appreciative they provided me with shelter." she nodded, attempting to trick her mind and change her mindset and view towards the two strangers.
she looked around, catching sight of a closet. she never tried looking into it thinking it was empty but something was telling her to check it.
the wardrobe's door left a gap in between, she couldn't see anything inside but pitch darkness. curiosity itched her, approaching the wardrobe cautiously.
after all the scary novels, it was no wonder she felt threatened with the sight of a wardrobe with the door creaked open peaking into darkness.
she opened it catching sight of something she thought she'd never find, the object was misleading and confusing.
