(bold text is korean)"johnny's banana" was written on the big wooden sign plastered onto a small wooden cabin. the nails that held up the board was almost rusting- it was known that the cabin had been there for a while now.
she never knew that the forest had any sort of life in it, especially shops. nevertheless, it was the only structure in the area for now. it was only in her curious nature for her to walk in.
upon arriving into the humble little cabin, the aroma of deep fire wood being burnt was greatly abundant in the area, lifting a holiday mood into her- Christmas.
as she crossed the floor mat, the sounding of a bell rang. it startled her to her bones yet it at the same time enhanced the feeling of a vintage cabin.
"hey dear, the name's johnny." the one who stood tall by the little counter top greeted chaeri warmly with a big smile practiced by many.
"o-oh hi ! i'm chaeri, you speak english ?" chaeri was surprised at the change in language he spoke, she didn't expect anyone that lived here to speak in another language- english.
as if lady luck was on her side, she had studied some english on her free time back when she was still living in the little town.
in that town, there wasn't much amusement or source of entertainment. besides, she didn't have any friends therefore she had plenty of alone time to replenish herself.
"looking for anything ?" johnny asked as he showed her around the shelves that carried plenty of necessities- mostly of items useful for such tough life in the forest.
she looked at the items on the shelves- lanterns, bandaids, mini guns and knives. that would all be useful for her.
however, she had one problem, she didn't have money or whatever currency they accepted up in the forest.
"all of these would be incredibly useful but i don't have any money on me." she looked down, her head pushed down and forced to look at her own fiddly feet. she was embarrassed.
"dear, you don't need money here ! i'm giving these to you." johnny looked like a hero in a story doing such a generous act. he would help her a ton in her journey.
"oh really ? why ?" she asked knowing no good things could come so easily without any sort of payment or help. it was indeed impossible for someone to be so kind.
especially after what had just happened, she had no trust in any one of kind intentions. they all must've had some agenda over it.
"let's just say, i'm a good person." johnny chuckled, mysterious he was. his answer was odd and unusual, who would know of such answer ? was he really a man of good will, or another man that came to destroy ?
confused, she stumbled back, she didn't know who he was or what he could do. she wasn't one to trust people easily. therefore, it was only right if she didn't take what he was offering.
"i think i'll just go." she was trying to keep her calm just in case he noticed that something was off with her. she wanted to leave in peace without disturbing anyone but that really wasn't possible in the wild life in the woods.
"take it. trust me, i know many things aren't going your way but let's just say, my friend wanted me to help you." johnny spoke, hopeful of succeeding in helping her. yet only the stubborn trait of hers prevented her from taking the items.
she shook her head, her pupils shaked. she turned around and ran out, she didn't want any more time to be spent in that cabin.
johnny stood there, his eyes stayed on the door as it shut closed. he failed. he failed in helping her- something he was tasked upon.
"how stubborn of her, sorry i can't help you with that..."
