he looked at her with soft eyes, such compassionate eyes only for her to see. his heart only beats in a rhythmic melody around her.
"please come with me, m'lady." jaemin held onto her hand gently, pressing onto her thumb gently as he looked her in the eyes to check for any sort of uncertainty.
"i..." she looked down at her feet, fiddling around as she stood there with thousands of thoughts corrupting her mind as she slowly shook her head.
"i'm sorry, i cant." she avoided eye contact at all costs, feeling guilty for some reason yet she couldn't pull herself to live with werewolves.
"but, it's not safe out there." he slowly approached her only for her to back up showing signs of discomfort.
he felt a sting on his heart, and that was the feeling of hurt. a pain built up, it felt like a hand that was squeezing onto his heart.
she had rejected his offer, an offer he doesn't give to anyone but her. he would've never saved any morals if they were put into the same situation.
it was just her that he wanted to protect, she saved him after all. jaemin was one thought with the values of gratitude.
he'd pay back whatever he owned, he'd do what's necessary until his heart gets satisfied. he was willing to protect her during her whole stay in the place that he called home- the forest, somewhere he was really familiar with.
she eyed him one last time, she didn't want to let him down but she couldn't look past the fact that he was a werewolf. she just didn't feel safe.
how unlucky, the man who was trying to protect her and make her feel safe only made her feel unsafe and provoked.
"i'm sorry." she let out a soft sigh yet he knew the signs for him to back off. he was a gentleman after all, and if his lady doesn't feel comfortable with him, he'd know to give her space.
nevertheless, it was the matter of life or death. she'd die and rot alone if she was left in the woods surrounded by such wicked creatures unknowing of their power and might over a pathetic human.
"at least do this for me, take this," he passed her a pendant of wizardry, "press onto the gem and it'll signal me that you're in danger." he smiled as he took out the tanzanite pendant identical with hers out of his t-shirt.
the two pendants were matching, identical. the pendant could communicate with the other, it was a way of communication with the involvement of sorcery.
the tanzanite gem on the pendant shone brightly in a dark shade of purple with slight bits of sapphire blue. it looked so magical- majestic in its own way.
she took the pendant and reached out behind her neck only to realise how awkward of a position she was in, she struggled with locking the two ends together only for jaemin to chuckle at her.
"come here, let me put this on for you." he took the pendant from her, she turned around allowing him to have a trouble-free time putting on the pendant.
with his hand around her neck, her face slowly turned into a shade of vermilion red, if she was an apple, she'd be the sweetest from the bunch.
after hearing a satisfying click coming from the ends of the pendant, she turned around to face him once again.
"thank you..." her voice as gentle as how the petals would fall down onto the calming water, something about her voice only made him more attracted to her.
it was a serene sound that brought him to feel at peace, his heart would always beat in such a steady pace when he listens to her voice.
he nodded as a note of notice before slowly retreating back to his hide-out, she was now left alone in the dark again.
however, the pendant gave out a little light bringing her hopes and a slight feeling of comfort.
