The familiar sound of a phone chimed across the room, catching Yoongi's attention as he slowly heaved himself up from his desk and made his way over to where he had lazily thrown his phone on top of his bed.

A tiny fragment of his heart couldn't help but hope that maybe it was Hoseok who had texted him, since it was the end of the school day by now and he surely would've seen the note some time between lunch and last period from when Jungkook dropped it off. But he didn't want to get ahead of himself or have disappointment take control over his body if it was a completely different notification not having anything related to Hoseok at all.

That was until he saw the message appear on the now illuminated screen, brightening up the dimmed room since the December sun often sunk behind the horizon way too early nowadays, already casting burnt orange hues across his room with other pastel colors of the sunset painted across the sky as well.

A soft smile tugged at his lips from the simple text displayed on screen, but despite how basic and ordinary it was, the little smiley face at the end of it seemed to tie everything together — properly representing Hoseok's personality perfectly through the digital world.

Yoongi blushed visibly, internally cringing at how possibly awkward he sounded seeing as his note literally told Hoseok that he thought he was cute, and they'd also be seeing each other in class tomorrow on top of that. But oddly enough, when Yoongi should've been stressed about how weird it could possibly be between them, not one trace of fear leaked through his body at the thought of it.

Only anticipating to verbally express himself through proper English instead of messily written handwriting on a half-assed sheet of paper that he tore straight out of a notebook.

Little hearts danced in Hoseok's eyes from the statement, not finding any fault in Yoongi's note at all unlike what he was proposing — in fact Hoseok found it somehow even cuter how shy he was to ask personally, thus residing in the classic note-through-locker method.

Which clearly stole his heart straight away.

Before going with his gut instinct to truthfully admit as to what Seokjin and Taehyung actually said through rather preposterous and chaotic exclamations and exaggerations, Hoseok contemplated whether he should actually type it, not wanting to freak Yoongi out or pressure him into anything obviously since his friends could get quite carried away with these types of things.
