The rest of the week goes pretty fast. I understand the subjects more as Hermione's been helping me with my homework. Draco has been avoiding me at all costs, he hasn't even looked at me once, pussy. Him and Blaise have just been annoying everyone, and Pansy just laughs along because she obviously fancies him. Hermione accidentally tripped up in the Great Hall yesterday, and Draco and his mates laughed. How immature.
I've been a lot more observant on the way the boys talk to me and look at me. Harry constantly wants to be around me. Maybe Malfoy's right. Do these boys just want to get in my pants?
We get given homework for Muggle studies which should be very easy for me, so I decide to do it whilst sitting on the grass by the Quidditch field, watching Slytherin's practice. Draco raises his eyebrows up and down at me, which is the first time he's acknowledged me since the argument. I just stare blankly because I don't want to give him the response he's hoping for. I then feel someone sit by me. I look to my left. It's Mohoseph Malfoy.
"I used to be in that Quidditch team" He says to me, staring into space.
"Why aren't you anymore?" I ask, staring at Malfoy who has now started practicing. I look at Mo and he's staring into my eyes.
"Because I'm too good, so I thought I'd be a disadvantage to the other houses" what a dick. I can't tell if he's joking.
"Really?"
He nods "Has my brother messed with you since the other day?"
"A little bit but I guess it's fine"
"If he ever goes too far, just tell me" he leans in to whisper "I don't want a pretty girl like you to get hurt"
I can't help but blush. Malfoy made Mo sound like he'd be the worst person in the world but he's so sweet. We have a nice conversation and he finally leaves me to do my homework. When I finish my homework, the Quidditch practice is also over. I stand up and as I make my way back to my dorm, I get stopped by the sound of Malfoy saying, "Ah so you enjoyed the show?"
I sigh "Didn't really watch it"
"Well, you really missed out. Drakie played really well today. He's the best player" Pansy says placing her head on his shoulder and holding his hand. He's smirking, clearly very cocky about himself.
I can't help but let out a little laugh and walk off. This boy really thinks he's something.
When I get back to my dorm, I try to call my mom to tell her how I'm doing but there's no signal. For God's sake. I was getting excited to talk to her because I always talk about my problems with her. Hermione opens the door and says "I've been looking for you. Get off your phone. Ron and Neville are having a really intense game of chess. Come on we're going to miss it" Wow. I couldn't think of anything worse. But I go anyway to please Hermione.
When I get there, everyone is crowding round the game. I sigh and stand at the back because I'm not that interested. Harry joins me and we have a really nice conversation. He's so sweet to me.
Half an hour passes, and the game is still going on. Out of nowhere I can smell Malfoy's scent nearby, so I turn around to see him and his mates walking past. "I've never seen so many nerds in one area. God, I'm so glad I'm not in Gryffindor" Malfoy says loudly so we can all hear. His mates laugh hysterically. I feel so out of place. I've never been called a nerd before. I've always been called the popular girl. Things have really changed and I'm not sure how I feel about it.
