The Monday breeze was welcoming outside the large home that Calum and I now called ours. The balcony outside of our empty bedroom was large, overlooking the crashing ocean. I took a deep breath of the Australian air.
My phone rang pulling me from my own tranquility. "Hello?" I sighed.
"Where are you?" Calum said from the other line, worry deep in his voice. We had been apart for a good six days now. He was back in the states for a week for an award show, I figured it would be best if I stayed behind to finish up some things with our home.
"At home love, where are you?" I responded trying to sound as innocent as my voice would allow.
"Home, home?" he asked quickly causing me to smile.
"Yes, our home."
I could hear him sigh as a door was shut. "I love the sound of that." I wanted to touch him, feel his warm skin.
"So do I, This view will make me never want to leave." My eyes scanned the empty beach, I wouldn't mind living down there either.
"We can certainly arrange that my dear." He joked. Inside the house always? No, I would go insane. "I will be home tomorrow, probably a little after noon. Have you called your school, your mother?" he gushed.
"Slow down there Calum, I'm not ready to go back to the real world. Just give me a couple more days. Your mother has me meeting with a wedding planner tomorrow morning, after that I will give everyone a ring."
"Good, I have to go I love you."
"Love you." I whispered pulling my phone from my ear. Everything had changed within a week, Allison and Ashton left for their honeymoon somewhere in Europe, now it was my turn to plan a wedding that would be coming in eight months. I'm not even sure my mother knows.
I sighed leaning back against the railing. I scanned the large room in front of me, I had an entire home to design. I pushed forward and stepped inside, what a beautiful place. Nothing would get done by myself and that honestly depressed me.
"Hello?" Niall answered on the first ring. "Toni? Everything okay?"
"Yes!" I giggled feeling like a small school girl. It felt overwhelming nice to hear his voice. "Just needed something familiar." Honesty was key, right?
"Where are you?" he asked softly.
"In my home, in Australia."
"You guys bought a home?" disappointment seeped through the phone, it felt like my heart crushed against my chest.
I nodded before mentally slapping myself. "Yes, it's a beautiful place, empty but beautiful."
"Hopefully I get to see it soon?" How nice would it be to have him here with me. I missed being close with him and his band mates.
"This weekend? I'm going to throw a housewarming party!" what? Since when? Another mental slap right across my freshly sun kissed skin.
"That sounds perfect! See you then!"
"Alright bye." We hung up, my heart was hammering.
"Fuck!" I shouted, I ran down the stairs and out into the heat. Calum's car sat in the driveway looking sleek and expensive. Speeding out of the view of my home I drove straight to the other side of town.
"Mali?" I shouted as I shut the front door behind me. "Mali where are you?" The kitchen was empty, the living room was empty. I sprinted up the stairs two at a time before I reached her bedroom. I found her laid across her bed, headphones on and her eyes closed.
I scanned the floor until I found a stuffed bird. She sat up before I had the chance to throw it. "What the hell are you doing?" she spoke slowly.
"We have to go shopping because I kind of told Niall Horan that I was having a housewarming party, this weekend."
She rolled her eyes at me before standing. "Of course I'll help come on, you're driving." It was my turn to roll my eyes as I followed her out the way I came.
We ended up in a furniture store with a tall blonde woman with a thick English accent. "We want to go more modern, leather, creams elegant with an edge." The lady smiled at me as she led us towards a long line of dark sofas.
"A leather couch?" Mali said with raised eyebrows.
"Talk to your brother." I shrugged with a smile. Mali shook her head, I knew she wouldn't agree and maybe that was the reason I asked her to come.
"The floor in the living room is dark, you cannot have a dark couch as well. I'm thinking white." I backed away as her and the sales lady decorated my home.

All of my furniture would be arriving late tomorrow, hopefully Calum would approve of the thousands of dollars I had spent on his card today. If he didn't I had someone to blame it on because I was perfectly okay going with the leather couch like he insisted. I sighed with a smile against the large bed in the hotel we were staying in. I would get to see him tomorrow, the thought caused my heart to pound.
I rolled over pulling his pillow to me. His smell wrapped around me taking me into a deep sleep.
