Next (maze runner, Newt fanfic)

I woke up in bed, alone. Confused I decided to go down and check on the girl. At least everyone wasn't woken up by a greenie alarm this morning. I waked into the room the Greenie was put in last night, but Alby was laying there instead. "What the" I said but before I could turn and walk out Alby answered.

"They moved the girl into the room next door" he said. I was completely unaware Alby had even woken up yet.

"Oh Alby, you're up. How are you feeling?" I asked

"Just be glad you're in a place like this, and not our in the real world." He said

"What?" I asked shocked. "How could being trapped here be a good thing?"

"Dark times" he said. I was about to ask about the dark times, but I noticed he was crying. I slowly backed out of the room and went next door.

I walked in the next door and saw the girl still laying asleep on the bed and Newt and Jeff talking. "How is she?" I asked.

Newt and Jeff both looked up, "nothing's changed" Jeff said. I nodded and looked at the dark haired girl. "Can you do me a favor though and get the box out of the closet and take it the slicers? Charlie or Winston will be in there"

"Sure" I said and smiled and turned and walked out. Moments later, I heard the door close and I turned to see Newt walking towards me.

"Sorry about that, I have to meet with all of the keepers today" he said and I nodded. He pulled me in a hug and kissed my forehead "how did you sleep?" He asked.

"Pretty good until I woke up alone" I said laughed

"It won't happen again" he said and put his finger over his lips

I I was about to ask what when I heard something in the closet moving and moaning "what is that" I mouthed to Newt

He shrugged his shoulders "open it" he whispered

I walked up to the closet and opened the door to see Thomas and Minho making out. Newt died laughing behind me, and Thomas and Minho both stopped and looked at me. "You told her didn't you shuck face?" Minho asked Newt

"He didn't tell me anything, but you're about to" I told him

"Minho and I are dating" Thomas said really fast

"Why didn't you tell me?" I asked loudly and punched Thomas in the arm. They both looked so embarrassed, but they really are a cute couple.

"We were planning on telling you tonight at dinner" Minho said.

"Sure you were" I said and crossed my arms. "Well if you could both come out of the closet, it would be greatly appreciated so I can do my job."

"Yep sure thing." Thomas said

"We have a maze to run anyway" Minho said and they both took off running.

"Why didn't you tell me?" I asked Newt

"They told me not to" he said and I shook my head "well I have to go talk to Frypan. I will see you at dinner Belle"

"Bye Newt" I smiled and grabbed the box, and walked out into the glade.

As I was walking, I realized I couldn't feel my legs. I tried to stop walking, but I couldn't. It's as if someone else is controlling my legs.

"What's going on?" I asked but no one is around me, so no one heard me. My legs just kept moving, and the more I tried to stop them, the faster they went.

Soon, I am passing the slicers shack and my arms threw down the box, without me making them. Then before I knew it I am running out into the maze. My legs broke out into and run and I tried to take in my surroundings. Ivy covered the tall walls that towered over me at maybe 100 feet? 200? I can't tell. The maze has a dark gloom to it and I am completely terrified.

My legs just kept moving until I felt a shock. Suddenly I could feel my legs again, but my coordination failed me and I went flying into a wall. I hit my head and fell to the ground, darkness taking over me.
