Next (maze runner, Newt fanfic)

Med-Jack

Newt and I grabbed dinner and sat down beside Minho. "Hey newt. Annabelle."

"Hey Minho" I smiled.

"Minho" newt said.

"How was your day working as a boring med-jack?" Minho asked.

"Better than your day working as a boring runner" I said

"Are you being serious shuckface?" He asked.

"100 percent slinthead" I said.

"Well jokes on you because you sound stupid trying to talk like a glader." He told me and laughed, Newt chuckled as well.

"No jokes on you because you look stupid all the time." I said.

"Well at least I didn't have to sleep on the floor last night." He told me.

"I didn't sleep on the floor last night" I told him and his eyes narrowed.

"You made Newt sleep on the floor? What a horrible th-" Minho started.

"Slim it Minho." Newt cut him off.

"She knows I'm kidding" Minho said and I laughed.

"So really how was your day as a med-jack?" Newt asked me.

Images of Ben thrashing around in pain crossed my mind and I don't know if I could watch that every day "it was alright." I said.

"Well that's better than the past few horribles I've gotten." He said

We ate dinner and continued mindless talking until the bell rang for bed. "I'll take our plates and you can start walking okay?" Newt said.

"Awe thanks babe can you get me plate too?" Minho asked.

"No you get take your own bloody plate and don't call me babe" newt said and I died laughing.

"I'm going to check on Ben before I go up, okay?" I told newt.

"Alright see you in a few minutes." Newt said

Walking into the homestead I ran into someone. They should really work on making the door wider I thought, because I always run into someone on my way in. I looked up to see Jeff, "Annabelle I was just coming to look for you, Ben wants you"

"Me? Why me?" I asked.

"I don't know but come on" he said and i went after him. "I will leave yall alone" he said.

I walked over to the bed and put a new cold cloth on Bens head "hey Ben its me Annabelle" I said even though he hadn't done anything but scream as responses the past day.

"Annabelle" he mumbled. I gasped a little but tried to stay confident, even though I am terrified of this large boy. "Sing to me" he said so softly I could hardy hear it.

I sat down beside his head and began to hum the same tune I was humming earlier. Soon enough, Ben fell asleep. I got up and left the room, and Jeff was waiting outside the door. "He's asleep" I told Jeff.

"Thanks maybe now Clint and I will finally get some sleep. And I won't tell Newt what you did" he said and winked

"What I didn't do anything" I said

"I know I was just teasing, but I don't understand how you work so well with Ben." Jeff told me and I nodded and walked upstairs and knocked on Newts door.

"Come in" he said and I opened the door. I went and sat down on the edge of the bed. "Everything alright Belle?" He asked

"No"I said and I started to cry. I just couldn't hold it in any longer. "It's not fair that Ben is in so much pain. Who would do this to people. What did any of us do to deserve to be put in here" I said in between sobs.

Newt said down next to me and took me in his arms. I put my face against his chest mad just kept crying. I'm not even sure why at this point, it just felt so good to finally get it out.

"I'm sorry." I said and wiped my eyes. I don't know why I just broke down, I guess seeing Ben in that state upset me.

"No need to apologize, love, it happens to the best of us." He said and rubbed my cheek with his thumb. "But I hate to see you crying"

"Sorry" I said and looked down. When I met Newts eyes again he pushed his lips onto mine. It shocked me for a moment but I began to kiss him back. When we pulled away I bit my lip, and didn't know what to say. It took everything from me to not smile like an idiot.

"I guess it's my turn to apologize" he said and smiled. "I don't know why I did that"

I just smiled because I didn't want to ruin the moment. Newt put his hand through his hair and got up to turn of the light. I got in the side of the bed closest to the wall.

I felt newt get in the bed. "Belle"

"Yeah Newt" I said

"Ably said you're going to work as a medjack, at least until Ben is better" newt told me

"Okay" I said. Being with Ben isnt bad, it just scares me know the effects of what is out there in the maze, but it also makes me a bit curious.

"Are you mad at me for kissing you?" He asked.

This took me by suprise. "No not at all. I'm glad you did"

"Has anyone else kissed you?" He asked

"No" I said, not knowing why anyone would want to

"Good" he said and I laughed. "Goodnight, love" he said and I heard him lightly snoring a few minutes later.

We woke up to a blaring alarm the next morning "what's that noise?" I asked

"The Greenie alarm" newt said and jumped out of bed.

"It's been a month already?" I wondered aloud.

"No it's been a week, which is why we need to hurry." He said and pulled me out of the room.

Guys I have the flu. So I've just been sitting in bed all day just writing... Happy double update day maybe I'll update again tomorrow because all I can do right now is lay in bed love you guys!! Let me know what you think by voting and commenting
