"You're going to make a right then the second left then you should see the doors" Gally told me

"Thank you. I hope we meet again some day" I said and took his directions. I walked slowly and took in the maze.

I heard the doors open, but the large walls are intriguing. They are absolutely huge. I took the second left, like Gally told me and sure enough I can see the glade. I stood at the corner for a second and took a deep breath, if anyone noticed I was gone last night I'm going to be in trouble.

Hopefully no one noticed..... "Annabelle" I heard and then I was crushed. In a hug. From Thomas.

"Thomas?" I asked

"Yes. Yes it's me. And it's you, oh my gosh. Thank god you're alive. What the hell were you thinking?" He asked, his mood changing.

"I'm sorry I couldn't" I stopped "I didn't mean to"

"Babe what are you waiting on?" I heard Minho and I smiled at his choice of words "Annabelle. We were coming to look for your body, what? How?"

"I just" I started, but he just wrapped his arm around me.

"Doesn't matter. What matters is your alive. You put Newt through hell though" he said

"Is he okay?" I asked, worried.

"No, now come on" he said and dragged me 20 feet into the glade.

"Everyone is in council hall, they called a meeting" Thomas told me.

"What to do next, I guess. The box still hasn't gone back down." Minho said

I nodded and Thomas threw open the door. "I thought you left already?" Frypan asked.

"Well we found something" Thomas said and pulled me forward.

"Belle?" I heard a hoarse voice and I turned around to see Newt, and he looked like a wreck. I can tell he's been crying for a while.

"Yeah it's me. I'm here." I said and went over to him. He pulled me into a hug and put his lips on mine.

His gently kisses me, massaging my tongue with his. "Gross" I heard Chuck groan and I pulled away and laughed.

"Take a seat. We will deal with Annabelle next" I heard Alby say and I turned around to go sit next to Chuck, but newt grabbed my wrist

"Stay here." He said and I nodded and sat down next to him.

"So all in favor?" Alby asked and people raised their hands. I have no clue what they are talking about, so I just sat there.

"Next, Annabelle." Alby said and turned to me.

"She should get thrown in the slammer" I heard

"Or banished" I heard and I stiffened

"We aren't banishing anyone" Newt said

"What do you suggest we do Keepers?" Alby asked

"Be happy since she's alright" Minho said

"She broke a rule" Winston said

"Yeah she did" Zart added.

Wow this hurts. "Thomas didnt have to stay in the slammer" Minho said and I smiled at him And mouthed 'thank you'

"Then throw them both in the slammer." Winston said

"One night." Newt said and Alby nodded and everyone was dismissed

I walked over to Thomas who was punching Minho's arms. "Wow. Thanks a lot. This is all your fault."

"Looks like we are slammer buddies" I said to him and he gave Minho another dirty look.

"Belle can I talk to you?" I heard Newt behind me and I slowly turned to him.

"Sure" I said and followed him up to our room.

"Annabelle you promised me. You promised you would never go into the maze" he said is voice in the edge of tears.

"It's alright. It-" he cut me off

"It's not alright. I thought you were bloody dead. I would have killed myself if Thomas or Minho would have brought your dead body back to the glade."

"Don't talk like that" I said

"Do you know why I have my limp Annabelle?" He asked

I had always noticed it, but never asked so I shook my head.

"Well I used to hate this place. I mean absolutely hate it and so one day I climbed up the ivy on the wall and jumped. I tried to kill myself, but Alby found me and brought me back to the homestead with a snapped ankle" he said and by this point I am crying. Newt tried to kill himself? I don't think I could survive this place without newt.

"But after that it started to get better. Not much but bearable. Then you came, and I actually enjoyed living here. With you. I know we haven't been dating long and we've only known each other for a few weeks but I- I-" he said

"Newt I'm so sorry I didn-"

"I love you, Belle" he said, knocking the air from my lungs.
