Next (maze runner, Newt fanfic)

All his fault

The sound of the doors opening is extremely loud this morning. I opened my eyes and remembered I am outside, not in my room. Alby, Minho and Thomas are out in the maze, not safe in the glade.

I jumped up and walked over to the small group of boys waiting on the doors to open, only to have my worst fears confirmed. There is absolutely no sign of the three boys in the maze. I stared down the empty corridor of the maze that is visible from the glade. Nothing.

"Alright" Newt started. "We all need to get back to work" even though he didn't seem to sure of the words he was saying.

The boys slowly started to head back to their jobs, but there is no motivation behind any of them. "Look" Zart suddenly yelled.

I looked up to see Minho and Thomas dragging Albys body. "How in the bloody world" I heard Newt

As soon as the three boys entered the glade, they were surrounded. "Medjacks" newt yelled and Clint and Jeff were at Albys side

"Do I need to help?" I asked Jeff.

"No you make sure Thomas and Minho are okay" he said.

I walked over to Minho and Thomas sitting next to newt. "Yes we fought a shucking load of them"

I walked over and stay between Thomas and Minho and put an arm around both of them. "Don't do that to me again" I said.

Thomas wrapped his arm around me and dryly said "wouldn't dream of it"

Newt cleared his throat. "Well, Thas enough celebrating cause Gally called a keeper meeting because of Tommy running about into the bloody maze."

"Do I go to the meeting?" Thomas asked

"Are you a keeper?" Minho asked him and I laughed

"Fine" Thomas said and Minho and Newt walked to council hall.

"How was it?" I turned to thomas.

"The maze?" Thomas questioned and I nodded. "Just as bad as everyone says, If not worse"

"Are you going to go back in?" I asked

"Yeah. There is something telling me I just need to get back out there" he said.

"You're crazy" I said and laughed.

"You" a voice growled from behind us, making me jump. I turned around to see Ben standing there, looking crazed. "This is all your fault"

"Hey Ben you alright?" I asked.

"You're bad. Bad. Bad. Bad." He said again and dove onto Thomas. I screamed and froze. Ben started choking Thomas, and I ran towards them.

"Ben Stop!" I yelled, trying to pull Ben off of Thomas.

"This is all his fault" Ben yelled and pushed me off of him, sending me crashing into a wall of the glade.

"Help" Thomas yelled as the boys began punching each other in the face.

"Stop it Ben. Thomas isn't bad" I tried telling, but it didn't appear that Ben heard me.

I tried yet again to pull Ben off of Thomas, but this time one of Bens punches for Thomas hit me right in the cheek.

"Ben" I heard Frypan yell and I turned around to see a big crowd of boys running to Ben and Thomas.

Within seconds, Ben was being pinned to the ground by 5 or 6 boys. "Take him to the slammer" Newt said and Ben began to thrash around as the other boys struggled to pick him up and carry him away.

"No don't do this! I didn't mean to! He's bad! It's all his fault!" We all sat, listening to Ben's screams until he was out of sight.

"Are you alright Tommy?" Newt asked

"What happened" Minho asked

"Ben just attacked me, and kept telling me that this is all my fault." Thomas said, rubbing his fingers through his hair.

"What does that even mean?" Minho asked

"We will deal with him at sundown" Newt said.

'Sundown?' I thought. What is so special about sundown?

"Belle are you alright?" Newt asked me, walking over to me.

"Yeah I'm good" I said and smiled

"That's a shucking gnarly bruise you got there" Minho said

Newt walked over to me and examined the side of my face. "I promise I'm fine." I said "but what happens at sundown" newt looked at Minho then back at me...

Turns out I really didn't want to find out.
