Bonfire

We walked up to the circle scratched in the dirt that served as boundaries for the two boys were fighting. One of the boys I didn't recognize had large arm muscles and dark hair, the other one is Charlie, the slicer who I met my first day trying out jobs. The boys were basically taking turns throwing each other on the ground, neither one seeming to be winning. "Who's going to win?" I asked Thomas

"I think Luke can take Charlie" he said

"I could take both of them" I told him and he smiled

"I think you're full of it" he told me and I smiled

"Might be. Will you get me a drink?" I asked and give him my puppy dog eyes.

"If I miss the end of the fight you're dead" he said and I nodded. Of course as soon as Thomas left, the fight ended. Thomas had been right. The boy, who Thomas had called Luke, ended up winning. Everyone cheered and two new boys entered the circle. I looked around for Thomas, but still didn't see him.

I turned back around to see Charlie and Luke walking towards me. "Hey Annabelle" Charlie smiled and wrapped me in a hug.

"Hey Charlie! Great job out there" I said and smiled

"She means great job loosing" Luke said

Charlie laughed "have you met Luke? He's a slicer with me"

"I do not believe I've had the pleasure" Luke said and I laughed.

"Very nice to meet you" I told him

"We are all friends here, bring it in" Luke said and wrapped me in a hug while i just laughed.

"Everyone has been so serious lately, glad to see you're still you." Charlie told me.

"Thank you" I said

"Here you go" Thomas came back, finally, with a drink with half missing.

"Did you get thirsty on the way?" I asked him

"Yeah. So did Minho and newt" he told me

"Well then here's to a community cup" I said and took a sip

"And here's to when you finish that I'm taking you out because I missed the end I the fight" he said and pushed me to the side, making me laugh.

"Hey!" I said

"It's all good, I took him out easily" Luke said

"Nice man" Thomas said and started to talk to Charlie and Luke.

I spotted Newt and Minho talking on the other side of the circle. "I'm gonna go over there" I said to Thomas and walked over to newt and Minho. "Am I interrupting something?" I asked

"Always" Minho said

"Never, sit" Newt told me and looked out at the circle.

My eyes followed his to see two boys I don't know beating each other up for pleasure. "Minho what would I have to do to get you to go into the circle?" I asked.

"You have to go in first" he told

"No" newt said and Minho laughed

"I'm the keeper of the runners sweetheart, I could take anyone here." Minho said

"Not me" I said.

"You keep thinking that" Minho said

"You two let's not argue" newt said and laughed, taking the drink from my hands. The bell rang, signaling for us to go inside. "I guess the bell agrees with me" he said and stood up, taking my hand.

"Goodnight Minho" I said and started to walk to the room with Newt. "Do you think Thomas and Minho will find anything tomorrow?" I asked him

"There's no way to be sure. The glitch sounds like something we've never seen before but after three bloody years in this place you learn that you can never really get your hopes up" he told me

"I guess" I said, suddenly feeling as if there's no way we will ever get out of this place.

"Nope. No need to be upset" newt said and kissed my forehead.

"What if we never make it out Newt?" I asked him as we walked into our room.

"We will get through it together. Honestly I've never been happier than I am being with you now. I love you so much Annabelle" he told me and I smiled

"I love you too Newt" I told him and he chuckled as he sat down in bed with me

"Let's get some sleep" newt said put his arm around my waist.

I woke up and my head was throbbing. I opened my eyes and something felt off. "Newt" I said and he didn't move. "Newt wake up" I said and shook him.

"What's wrong belle?" He said and opened one of his eyes.

"They sky" I said

"What about the sky?" He mumbled with his eyes closed

"It's gone" I told him
