Chase Runs Away

A Normal Day Right? :(

It was a nice morning in Adventure Bay. The birds were chirping letting everyone know it was time to wake up but no one could be up before Chase.

At the lookout the German Shepherd has awoken early as normal to awaken his fellow teammates. He gets out of his pup house with a stretch as he barks for his megaphone.

"Ruff! Megaphone" The Shepherd commands. "Goooooood morning pups it's time to wake up!" He yells.

One by one the pups groan and awaken out of their pup houses to the barking of their police partner.

"I weally hate that megaphone" Zuma whispers to Rocky with an annoyed face.

"Me too" The mixed breed replies.

"Well time for breakfast" Rubble says with a yawn as everyone walks to the lookout.

Inside Ryder has prepared breakfast for all of the pups.

"Good morning pups!" Ryder says in his friendly voice as he sits down to eat his own food.

"Good morning Ryder!" The pups reply in a awakening voice as they were still a bit tired.

"Hey, Ryder ? I'm not really hungry right now, do you mind if I got for a walk?" Chase questions the leader.

"Sure Chase just be on standby in case I need you for something" The boy replies.

Chase beams happily.

"Thank you Ryder sir!" The police pup says cheerfully. "Rubble if you want you can hav-"

"Already on it" the bulldog replies as he starts eating the Shepherd's breakfast.

Chase chuckles.

"Alright I'll be back" He says as he heads out of the lookout but first stopping for his uniform just in case.

The pup crosses the lookout bridge and heads into town. He says hello to Alex and Mr. Porter.

"Hey Chase!" Alex the troublesome kid says. "What are you doing?"

"Hey Alex, hey Mr. Porter" Chase replies. "I'm just taking a mid morning walk"

"That's cool, can I come with you?" The kid eagerly asks.

"Now now, you know you have chores to do today" Mr. Porter reminds the boy.

"Aw papa" The boy whines.

"I'm sure Chase will be more than happy to let you hang out with him and the rest of the Paw Patrol when you're finished with your chores. Right, Chase?" Mr. Porter assures the boy.

"Of course Alex!" Chase says happy to keep him happy.

"Alright!" Alex says eager to finish up his chores. "See ya later Chase!"

"Bye Alex, bye Mr. Porter" Chase says as he heads towards Katie's shop.

The pup heads inside and sees Katie giving her pet cat, Callie a bath.

"Hey, Chase! I didn't know you had a grooming scheduled for today" The girl greets with confusion.

"Hey, Katie and I'm just taking a walk and decided to come by here" The Shepherd explains. The Shepherd then pays attention to the cat in bath. "Hey Callie" the Shepherd greets the cat.

Callie just meows in an uninterested yet acknowledging way.

Chase chuckles.

"Well, it was nice seeing you two again, I'm probably going to head back to the lookout now" The Shepherd says.

"Ok, bye Chase" The girl waves as she watches the Shepherd exit.

The Shepherd heads back to the lookout and decides to go see what the other pups are doing. He notices they aren't around the front like usual which confuses him. As he gets closer to the building he starts to hear voices reminiscent of the pups. He approaches around the back slowly and listens in:

"We gotta do something about Chase" Zuma says.

"What do you mean?" Skye asks confused.

"Ok, for stawters, that megaphone is obnoxiously loud" The lab starts.

"I agree" Rocky says. "Plus his leader personality can get kind of annoying outside of missions" The mixed breed adds.

"I can agree with that" Rubble says. "It can get a little aggravating"

"Yeah" Marshall agrees. "Doesn't seem very necessary. It can sound kind of bossy" .

Skye is silent for a second but speaks up.

"Yeah I guess it can be a bit much sometimes" the cockapoo says. "I mean I get he's the leader but he could definitely loosen up more outside of the missions"

"Sometimes I wish we didn't need an authowitative pup on the team" Zuma says

"Agreed" The rest of the pups say.

Chase couldn't believe what he was hearing. Were they really having a secret meeting to complain about how Chase is? Did they really not like him as a leader? How could they say those things? The Shepherd couldn't handle the fact that they felt this way. He stopped dead in his tracks and ran out of the lookout in silent tears.
