At Jake's Cabin

The awkwardness between the two pups could not of been anymore defined. They weren't speaking or looking at each other. Instead, they silently watched the TV. The two could feel the tension and neither of them liked it. Chase couldn't help it though. He was so internally conflicted, it hurt to even look at the Husky.

It was so strange though. For the past few nights, he had slept with the Husky and thought nothing of it but now the thought of it made him blush madly. He knew he couldn't keep this in forever but he would probably freak her out if he brought it up.

"I don't know how I could even bring this up" Chase says, accidentally thinking out loud. He quickly freezes up at the realization.

Everest turns to him in confusion.

"Bring what up?" She asks nicely, hoping to get information out of the pup.

Chase was conflicted looking at her, even now. He had to think fast. Should he tell her, should he lie...No. She cares too much about him and did too much for him to just lie straight to her face. He had to be honest. He sighs.

"Everest, can I ask you something?" The pup says in slight fear.

"Yeah, of course Chase" Everest replies with concerned eyes.

"Ok, so this whole Skye thing has been stressful and I was just wondering...do you like anyone?" Chase asks.

This question catches the Husky off guard. She was not expecting such a question to come from the former police pup. Still, it was an interesting question.

"Ummm, I actually never thought about that. While I'm up here, dating never crosses my mind. Why do you ask?" The Husky replies.

"Oh-uh, it's just with the- ya know- Skye situation. It made me open my eyes and-" Chase stops himself. He knows that he can't just put himself out there like that. Marshall wanted to be with her and Chase felt dirty speaking on this with her.

Everest notices his hesitation.

"Chase please don't do this again" Everest pleads.

Chase looks puzzled.

"Do what?" Chase asks.

"When you pause like that it usually means I'm not gonna actually hear what you wanted to say. Please just tell me. I told you before, you can trust me. Clearly you asked me that question for a reason, so what was it?" The Husky asks, somewhat impatiently.

Chase knew he had went too deep after thinking out loud. He regretted that at the moment. He knew he had to be honest with her. Even if it ruined multiple friendships, he HAD to let her know before it ate him alive.

"Ok...so you remember the dream I was having this morning?" Chase starts

Everest nods.

"Seemed more like a nightmare but yeah." The husky replies.

"Well, yeah. At first I thought it was a nightmare until I realized I actually kind of enjoyed it" Chase says, nervously with his head looking down.

This peaks Everest's interest.

"What was it Chase?" Everest's asks.

"I had a dream that... you and I were on...a date" Chase finally finishes.

The Husky went completely silent and blank. She was not ready to hear that. No sign of emotion was present on her face except shock.

Chase took notice of the Husky's shocked expression and looked down. There was no turning back from that. As nervous and as terrified as he felt, he had to admit, it at least felt somewhat pleasant to get that off his chest, but it didn't matter now.
