Figuring Out Feelings

Chase wanted to be aggravated at how many times he had crossed the floors of this cabin in stress of what he would deal with when he got to the other side, but honestly, he couldn't help but laugh. This was crazy, but not to the point where he couldn't enjoy the ridiculousness. Even if he knew he was probably mere inches away from a strong interrogation, he knew he was just dealing with concerned family members.

"It really can't be that bad" Chase thought to himself  as he made his approach.

The boys unsurprisingly had a smirk across their face which was very much expected. Chase glanced across the room and noticed Skye and Everest chatting. Most likely about the same subject the other pups were about to talk to Chase about.

"Well, if it isn't Chase" Rubble says to the Shepherd.

"Yeah, seems like our fwiend has been a bit busy lately" Zuma says.

"Hey guys" Chase says in a clear tone.

"Wait guys" Marshall says. "Clearly Chase knows why we called him over here, but before we assume what we all think is going on here lets see if it's true" The Dalmatian says.

Chase smiled. He appreciated the benefit of the doubt he was being given.

"Ok Chase, so what the heck went down last night?" Rocky asks.

"I did" Chase says.

The pups looked confused.

"What?" They all replied.

"I did" Chase repeated. "I went down last night. Right down to sleep before everyone else. I woke up the next morning and Skye was in my arms" The Shepherd explains to the pups.

"Oh so you weren't aware at all that Skye was cuddled with you?" Rubble asks.

Chase shook his head.

"Nope. Not at all."

The pups seemed a bit dissatisfied. Almost as if they wanted this to go down a bit longer, but clearly Chase had no motives the night before.

"So just to be clear, you don't like Skye?" Marshall asked.

Chase paused which caught everyone's attention. He noticed the new expressions on their faces. He didn't know what to say. He wasn't sure if he had feelings for Skye, but he didn't want to just deny it. The Shepherd couldn't act like the crush the cockapoo had on him before was one sided. He had liked her too. It was only put on pause due to the many events that had taken place and the relationship he had with Everest, but did that mean his feelings were still there?

"Well Chase?" Zuma persisted "Say something."

Chase remained silent. Deep in thought.

"I'm gonna take that as a...maybe?" Rocky questioned.

"I don't know" Chase said. "I'll be completely honest with you guys. I might like her, but I'm really not sure. Last night I was thinking about everything that had happened and the Everest situation and that's when Skye talked to me and it really made me remember how I felt when I liked someone. I'm not sure if I'm just missing the feeling or if I'm dealing with old feelings. It's all just so confusing." Chase said in frustration.

The pups seemed understanding. They're expressions softened.

"We understand Chase. It's completely normal to be confused by this type of thing. These are really confusing times" Marshall said.

"Yeah, sometimes I wish times were as simple as going on missions and eating snacks" Rubble says sadly.

"And playing Pup Pup Boogie" Zuma adds.
