At the Lookout

The pups are all sleep except one. She had woken up particularly early so that she could go take a walk. She had a mind that still needed clearing.

"This might be a while" Skye says to herself as she heads for town.

She had plans on coming back around the afternoon, and Ryder could call her if he needed to. She just didn't want to attract a lot of attention.

"I wonder if I could come over today" Skye thinks. "Probably should give a heads up before I plan to come though".

The Cockapoo couldn't help but wonder what Chase wanted to talk about, and why to her in particular. It has to be something important.

"He didn't seem too happy about speaking on it though. Especially with Everest aroun-wait." The cockapoo says as she stops dead in her tracks. "What if it's about Everest? Could they be-" Skye shakes her head quickly forgetting the thought.

She knew as well as everyone else that a certain Dalmatian already has plans for the Husky.

"He would never do that to Marshall." She says. "And it's not like he likes her anyway Right? She's just being nice during his time of need" Skye says as she tries to shake the thought off.

She tries to ignore the idea of the Shepherd loving someone else because it was all speculation in her mind but she couldn't help it. All she knew is that they had to have a lot of alone time together. Anything could happen, and Everest is no shabby pup. She could win the hearts of every guy on the team if she wanted to. In comparison though, Skye was kind of old news in a sense. Everyone knew her so thoroughly. Her likes, her dislikes, her fears, her favorite food, everything. It wouldn't surprise her in the slightest if Chase ended up wanting her instead.

"But he would never do that to Marshall" Skye reminds herself as she continues her walks past the many buildings in Adventure Bay.

She really couldn't believe how much had happened within a few days. Everything was so normal before. Chase was still their mostly fearless police pup and she would admire everything about his demeanor. They would play outside in their free time and enjoy the company of each other. They were all just a happy group. One talk changed all of that.

"How could we of been so stupid?" Skye says to herself still feeling guilt. "Ugh, I have to stop letting that get to me" she says as she passes Farmer Yumi and Al's farm.

As much as her mind's subjects were changing, she couldn't help but still revisit the idea of Chase and Everest. Ah eventually shrugs it off with a laugh.

"How crazy would that be?" She says with a chuckle.

At Jake's Cabin

It was still early morning. The house was mostly still except for a restless Chase. The deepest depths of his self conscious were manifesting in his dreams to the point where he saw something that freaked him out.

"No, no , no!" He says, moving around in his sleep. "There's no way. No way" The pup says as he fights to wake up.

His erratic movement awakens his Husky roommate, who quickly takes concern of the Shepherd's heavy breathing. She listens.

"No, it can't be. We, we're just friends! W-w-what about Mar-"

"Chase, wake up" Everest says as she shakes the pup.

At once, Chase jumps up out of his spot, breathing hard like he had seen a ghost. He adjusted his eyes at his surroundings and focused in on the Husky with wide eyes.

"Chase a-a-are you ok? What happened?" Everest says carefully trying not to alarm the pup.

Chase tries to calm down but looking at Everest was like looking at his nightmare in person. In an instant, the Shepherd dashed out of the doggy door. In no concern of the snow or the ice.
