At Jake's Cabin 1:00 pm
It was a nice afternoon in the mountains. Although nobody from inside of a building could tell it was the afternoon due to the immense snow build up. It had snowed all night so hard to the point where the snow barricaded the doors and windows.
From inside of the main room, the pups are all sleeping peacefully. The week had really tuckered them out. Chase, unsurprisingly, was the first to awaken. He saw that he was cuddled against his favorite Husky and didn't even blush this time. He had done it a million times at this point. He sits up and stretches a bit with a yawn.
"Wow, that was some good sleep" The Shepherd says as he rubs his eyes.
He felt peaceful inside all up until he decided to stare across the room. That's when it all went dark to him again. There on the other side of the room, he notices a certain Dalmatian and Cockapoo curled into each other's arms. They looked so comfortable and peaceful.
Chase couldn't quite put his paw on it but he felt the urge to just throw up. He had no idea why though. The things those two decided to do had nothing to do with him. He could care less what those two decided to do. Even if they ended up...dating.
"Yeah, I don't care what they choose to do" Chase thinks as the thought makes him shake a bit.
Everest notices the disturbance of her bunk mate and looks up to him with tired eyes.
"Ch-chase what are you shaking for?" The Husky says with a yawn as she looks at the direction Chase is facing. She frowns. "Chase, don't tell me you're worried about what those two are doing" Everest says with a worried look.
Chase pauses for a minute before shaking his head.
"Of course not Everest. I was just shaking because I got chilly" The Shepherd lies.
Everest looks unsure at his reply.
"Well, you can't complain about that when you got up this early in the morning" Everest says with a chuckle.
"I don't know why I'm up this early, it just felt normal, but I guess I can't really rely on normal anymore" Chase says as he puts his head down, reminiscing on the old days.
Everest puts her head under his chin and nuzzles him.
"Hey. Things might not be the same as they were before, but that doesn't mean we can't make a new normal. With you and me, and maybe you could even join the team again." Everest says encouragingly.
Chase chuckles.
"Haha, yeah sure. Then I'll kiss Skye and purposely go to the dentist" Chase says as he laughs.
Everest glares at his attempt of a joke.
"Look, all I'm saying is that there's a million other things I'd rather do than join back on a team full of people I'd rather not be around" Chase says to the visibly angry Husky.
Everest stays quiet.
"Uh...Everest? What's wrong?" Chase says with sad eyes.
"Of all of the examples you could've came up with to show how much you didn't want to join the team back, why did you pick kissing Skye?" The Husky finally asks, clearly a bit annoyed.
"I had to pick something extreme and unlikely that I would never do to prove a point" Chase explains as he starts laughing.
