The Morning of Missions and Feelings

At the Lookout

The pups are sleeping peacefully when they are awoken by Ryder at about the same time Chase usually does. It was strange waking up to the new voice but the pups still had to admit; they preferred that over the megaphone.

"Good morning pups" Ryder says, awakening the pups as they exit their pup house.

"Good morning Ryder" they all reply groggily as they start to head to the lookout for breakfast.

Skye trails behind slowly due to the fact that she appears to be very tired.

"Skye, you ok?" Marshall asks, slowing down with her.

"No, I didn't get much sleep last night. I was spending most of it just thinking and feeling bad until eventually I just cried myself to sleep" The cockapoo says sadly.

"This whole thing really seems to be tearing you apart" Marshall says in concern.

"I can't help it. I feel really bad about this. Chase did nothing wrong and we just talked about him like he was the problem" Skye says.

"I'm sure we can explain to him and get everything cleared up. I hope so, at least. I feel really bad too" The Dalmatian says.

Skye shakes her head.

"You don't understand Marshall. This means something more to me. I really like Chase and I feel like I just lost my chances with him. He probably hates me now" Skye says in despair.

Marshall is shocked by Skye's confession and hugs the cockapoo in comfort.

"Skye, Chase could never hate you. We all messed up but if I know Chase like I think I do, he'll find it in his heart to forgive us" Marshall says in assurance.

Skye smiles.

"Thanks Marshall, I really hope you're right. I really like him and I couldn't imagine not being with him" The cockapoo explains.

"I know how you feel" Marshall says while thinking of a certain pup he had feelings for. "Well, let's catch up with the other pups, I'm starving."

"Yeah, me too let's go" Skye agrees as the two head into the lookout with the rest.

Ryder, once again, pours the pups breakfast. The pups begin eating. Everyone is quiet until Ryder speaks up.

"Are you guys ready for the search today?" The boy asks.

"Yeah, I hope we have some good luck" Zuma says.

"True, I really want us to find Chase" Rubble says with hope.

"Yeah, it was weird going to sleep not knowing where he was" Rocky says.

"Yeah, everything just feels off" Marshall starts. "Especially not hearing Chase wake us up"

"You're right. I kinda missed hearing the megaphone this morning. It feels normal at this point" Skye says remembering the sound.

Ryder is glad to hear his pups feel remorseful towards the situation. They weren't being heartless. They were just miscommunication their feelings.

"Well, I called Katie and she said she hasn't seen any signs of Chase and neither have Alex it Mr. Porter. So we're gonna have to split up and search around. We'll have to check for any signs that could point towards where Chase is" Ryder explains.

"That sounds good" Rocky says.

"Yeah, I'm willing to twy anything" Zuma adds.

"Well, alright let's get suited up and get searching!" Ryder says as the pups head to the elevator to change until their uniforms. When they hit the top, they all head down the slide to get into their respective vehicles. After everyone is in their vehicles they split into sections and start the search for their police pup.
