Oh boy, its 1 am but I really wanted to post this. I am going to pass out in like 2 minutes. anyway, sorry for taking so long to update, I'll try to be better in the future. Please enjoy!
"Agh!" exclaimed Xisuma as the jolt of redstone power flowed through him. His sugar cane farm was causing him a bit of trouble, as he had to repair it 3 times already in one day. And it didn't help that he had been on edge since the "hurricane incident". He was jumpy and anxious, trying to just figure out what he was doing wrong.
Xisuma took off his helmet and flattened his hair, which was standing in end after the shock. He sat down on the floor, taking a deep breath to try and calm himself down. As usual, a wave of anxiety washed over him. Voices of self-doubt flooded his mind. This always happened when X tried to calm down, making it hard for him to ever chill out. Today, he was having some trouble pushing the voices away. The dark thoughts slowly enclosed around his mind, making Xisuma panic.
As he struggled with his own mind, he was suddenly distracted. A strong gust of wind rattled the tower's walls. Xisuma snapped out of his trance and stood. Ping ping ping! His phone went off, signalling hermits messaging the group chat.
<Etho> Woah what was that? X? is there such a thing as a wind glitch?
<Grian> o u felt that 2? It wuz a real strng gust.
<Impulsesv> Hmm, maybe it was a server-wide wind glitch?
The rest of the hermits all said that they felt the wind too. Xisuma read these messages, his mind racing for answers. I've never heard of such thing as a wind glitch, but it is pretty strange that a gust that strong was felt through the entire server. He opened his admin logs, searching for a trace of anything. They were empty of all alerts, bugs, or hackers. This was a natural event.
<Xisuma> Everything is fine. I couldn't find any bugs or hackers, so I guess this is just a one time glitch.
The hermits responded, everyone seeming satisfied with that answer. Xisuma wasn't. He raced back to his main tower, needing to find out the cause. He brewed a tea, and set up his admin screens in a corner. The translucent screens lit up the dimly lit room with a green light. Xisuma put on his coder's gloves, that let him interact with the code around him, and set to digging.
He pulled up records from the past week, scouring for answers. looking for any faulty line of code, he examined for hours on end. He searched each hermit's code, looking for inconsistencies to pick apart. He came across the hurricane that he experienced a few days ago. A thought popped into his head, connecting the two events, but he quickly pushed it away. He scanned the rest of the code, finally finishing 10 hours later. He swiped away the glowing screens and plopped down on his bed, exhausted and disappointed. He had found nothing that could explain the strange wind from today. He picked his phone to notify the hermits, but instead saw missed texts. Stress had texted him a bunch, asking if he was okay. She was worried after he hadn't answered one of her earlier texts. He then noticed that 3 minutes ago, Stress said she was coming over to check on him.
Knock, Knock!
She was definitely here. Xisuma picked himself up and stumbled over to the door. he ran his fingers through his messy, tangled hair, trying to look at least presentable. Opening up, he saw Stress' concerned face. "Oh dear, you look worse than I thought you would." Stress said with a chuckle. She wiggled her was past Xisuma, who was leaning heavily one the door frame. "Now hun, lets get you to bed. She propped herself under X's shoulder, letting the larger hermit lean on her as they made their way back to Xisuma's bedroom. Stress set Xisuma on the bed, and started looking in his dresser for pyjamas. She chucked clothes at him, having picked out a baggy "Get Gorgeous" t-shirt and some basketball shorts. She then turned around for him to change. Xisuma did so slowly, but also with a desire to not keep Stress waiting.
"'Kay mum I'm done!" X said with a giggle. Stress laughed softly as she tucked Xisuma into bed, planting a kiss on his forehead.
"Now get some sleep dear." Stress whispered. She turned off the lantern on X's nightstand, and sat on the edge of his bed. She absentmindedly twirled Xisuma's hair around ever so gently as she sang the song "Blackbird". X sighed as he fell asleep to the soft tones of her voice.
The next day, Xisuma was strolling around the shopping district, humming quietly to himself. He waved to Tango, Impulse and Bdubs as he walked past the boomers shop and into Etho's ice shop.
"Oh hey there, Etho! Didn't think you'd be stocking today."
"Yup, gotta stay on the grind, as the kids say!" The Ice King replied, "Oh also X, have you got around to fixing the ghost block in my base yet?" A wave of anxiety washed over Xisuma as Etho mentioned the ghost block. He had completely forgot about the request Etho put in to have it removed.
"Oh! Yeah of course! i've just been a bit busy with other things, that's all." X said anxiously. He felt terrible for forgetting about it, since he knew how much of a pain those blocks were.
As the admin stressed over the forgotten request, the wind picked up. The strong gusts rattled the walls of the ice shop. Xisuma winced as he realized what was causing it. He took out his communicator, and watched as the chat flooded with reports of feeling the strong wind throughout the server. The wind kept going, getting stronger and threatening to blow down the small shop.
"Ah, I'm guessing you're busy trying to figure out the wind-glitch!" Etho shouted above the noise of the roaring gale outside.
"Um, yeah! Still haven't figured it out, but I'll get to your ghost block problem before i start woking on that again!" X shouted back. He took a few deep breaths to calm himself down as he waited for the wind to stop. Everything will work out. You have a plan now. He thought as. He tried to reassure himself. He would go fix Etho's ghost block right away, even though he wanted to spend another day scouring code for the source of this glitch. He needed to find the source of the glitch.
The wind stopped about a minute later. That minute was spent with an awkward silence between X and Etho, as both were reading chat off their phones. As Xisuma left the small shop, he gave the Ice King a small wave and swiftly put on his boots. He flew off to the jungle, to finaly fix that pesky block.
