DRISHTI'S POV
I woke up to the harsh sound of the alarm clock, ringing upon the bed side table. Rubbing my eyes, I sat up on the bed, taking my time to adjust to the soft sunlight now pouring in through the open windows. Seven o'clock. The weather today was comparatively dull, the sun frequently masked by floating grey clouds. Rakshit was asleep on the sofa, the blanket drawn upto his waist. He looked kinda cute while sleeping.
The events of last night came rushing back to my memory. The game. The dance. The question. His insecurities. My answer. I had not waited for his reply, instead I had strode up to our room and pretented to sleep. I had then heard him come in a few minutes later. But I didn't have the courage to make conversation with him.
I folded my blanket and laid it aside, then I got down from the bed and went into the bathroom to freshen up.
Usually, Rakshit would wake up at this time and sit checking his mail while I finished my shower. But today, as I emerged out of the washroom, wearing a fresh saree and my hair wrapped around a cotton towel, I saw that he was still sleeping peacefully on the sofa.
Maybe he stayed awake late last night. Anyways, I had to wake him up, else he would be late to office. Actually, no, Rakshit Shergill is never late to office, he will just skip breakfast to make it in time. Mom once told me, that if food wasn't served to him, he would probably never even bother to take meals on his own, especially when he was working (which was almost always).
~ "Rakshit?"
I called softly. No response.
~ "Rakshit?"
Yet no response.
Hesitantly, I let my hand rest on his arm. As I shook it gently, I felt his muscles beneath his T - shirt.
~ "Rakshit? Please wake up, you will be late for office."
~ "Mmmmm..."
Thank god! He was awake.
But instead of opening his eyes and sitting up, he wrapped his arms around my waist and pulled me on top of him.
I was so surprised by his sudden move that I could barely react.
We were so close now, our bodies touching, our lips just inches apart. Up close, he looked even more handsome. His hair was all ruffled and messy and to be honest, for a wild moment, I even wanted to kiss him.
~ "Rakshit! What are you doing? Leave me!"
He blinked open his eyes and looked straight into mine, confused. It took him a few moments to realise the posture we were in. As he let go of my waist, I saw the colour rise to his cheeks.
I got up from top of him, flustered.
He sat up on the sofa.
~ "I - Drishti - I am sooo sorry - I thought that - er -"
~ "That?"
~ "That - umm - I thought that you were my pillow."
I should be irritated, but instead, I burst out laughing. Pillow? Awww!
He looked even more confused and surprised than before. I took the chance to tease him.
~ "Uh huh, Rakshit Shergill! So, I know your deepest and darkest secret!"
