RAKSHIT'S POV
I ran through the evening crowd swarming on platform nineteen, keeping a strict eye on the back of the last man, afraid that I would lose him in the chaos. I had no idea where they were taking her, I was not quite familiar with the station area of Delhi.
Sure, I often came here for business meetings and transactions, sometimes even with Rashi, when she got bored with Mumbai and wanted a vacation, but we never visited this side.
But right now, I only knew one thing - if I let them take Drishti today, after all that I did to find her, I would never be able to forgive myself for the rest of my life.
Soon, the crowd on the platform thinned and I had to follow them more carefully, making sure that there was ample gap between us. I didn't want to arouse suspicion, at least not right now, when so much was at stake. And by so much, I meant Drishti's life.
~
A little away from the main station platform, there was a small warehouse. From the look of it, I felt that this could have been some abandoned factory. Why would he bring her here?
I got the answer to my question within a few seconds.
I hid myself behind a broken door, breathing ever so slightly.
Akash laid Drishti upon a chair and then removed his mask. He whistled to one of his gang members and the guy pulled out a rope from his jacket pocket. He threw it towards Akash, who caught it efficiently.
Akash tied Drishti's hands and legs to the chair and then gagged her with his handkerchief.
I felt my temper rise.
~ "Look, let's just finish fast and then we will throw her body on the rail line, no will be able to identify the corpse."
He smiled coldly, the other men pulled out their masks.
Finish what?
There was movement on the chair and I realized that Drishti had regained her senses. She opened her eyes and saw Akash, her pupils widening in horror. She tried to scream, but the handkerchief choked her. A muffled sound, which drowned in the noise of an oncoming train.
That is why they had chosen this place. No sound will be heard... Which gave them the freedom to do anything with Drishti...
I felt a cold shiver run down my spine.
~ "Buttercup, buttercup, buttercup. How many more times would you have to believe me and regret to learn your lesson?"
He laughed.
~ "I am Akash Kashyap and I always get what I want. Always."
He bent down to look into Drishti's eyes. Drishti tried to move and the chair shook violently.
~ "Buttercup, this would be no use. See? I wanted you only for myself, but your fuck of a husband did not let that happen... So, I had to get extra help. And so, as a payment for their hardwork, my men get to have you too."
What?
He tried to kiss her, Drishti turned her face away.
~ "Oh, no, buttercup, yield and I will tell them to be gentle. And considering the fact that your husband will not come and save you this time, yielding is the best and the only option you have."
Okay, so if I was the hero of an action film, here would be my entry.
I kicked the door and stepped into the room.
~
"I might just have to prove you wrong again, Akash."
He stood up straight and looked into my eyes. My heart wrenched at his deadly stare.
His men advanced towards me but he held out a hand to stop them.
~ "Rakshit Shergill. We meet after long."
He smiled.
~ "I assure you Akash Kashyap, this meeting will not be a pleasant one for you."
He merely laughed.
~ "Mine will not be a pleasant one, but I assure you that this will be your last one."
He flicked his hand and two of his men advanced towards me.
The first one tried to punch me, I ducked and averted. I pulled him by the leg and threw him upon the second man. Both of them flew back and slammed into a wall. The entire warehouse shook.
Akash sent the remaining three of his men. They formed a tight circle around me. The three of them tried to attack at the same time, I ducked again and swerved, coming out of the circle. I grabbed one by the collar and punched him in the face multiple times. My rage knew no bound. I was so angry - on Drishti, on Akash, on the entire universe. I had been so engrossed in punching that I barely noticed a man advancing upon me from the back, a knife in his hand. When I realized and turned, it was too late. He tried to plunge the knife, my reflexes froze. But suddenly, his facial expressions changed and he slumped down on the ground.
I saw Divya, holding a metal rod. Her hair was all messed up, her kajal now leaking down her face along with tears. I turned around - Sikhar was fighting with the last man - the rest were all unconscious (might be dead) on the ground.
Of course, Divya and Sikhar had to be the dare devils and come and follow me right into the mouth of death.
I turned towards Akash. We were now facing each other.
He immediately pulled out his gun and pointed at Drishti's head. Drishti closed her eyes.
~ "Advance and I will shoot. If Drishti cannot be mine, I will never let her be someone else's. "
I took a step back, afraid that he will hurt Drishti.
~ "Stay where you are. Stay."
Still pointing his gun at Drishti, he started taking steps back. He wanted to escape.
My mind had stopped working. I didn't know what was happening - will he actually shoot?
If Drishti cannot be mine -
~ "Bhai, moveeeee!"
The walls rumbled as Sikhar shouted from the far corner of the room. Before I could understand what was happening, someone grabbed my arm and pulled me down on the ground.
I landed hard.
There were two gunshots, one after the other, that pierced the atmosphere, making the very ground rumble.
