DRISHTI'S POV

The morning sunlight streamed in through the open windows and bathed my room with warmth.
I sat up in my bed, rubbing my eyes and wondering what date it was. I pulled the sheets apart and checked my phone, resting on the bedside table.

Wednesday.

Finally, it was here! I can't believe that Wednesday was finally here!

I would see Rakshit today.

Excited and brimming with joy, I hummed out of bed, took my shower, got dressed and went to breakfast.

Romi was already sitting at the table, bent over and tying his shoes, a piece of bread held between his teeth.

Divya was standing by the kitchen counter, wearing an over sized T - shirt (probably Romi's) and frying vegetables on the gas oven.

I sat down, wishing them cheerfully.

Me - Good morning, Divi! Morning Romi!

I was practically beaming.

Divya turned towards me.

Divya - Good morning Di! You look really cheerful today! What's up?

Romi - You are blushing like your boyfriend is coming to visit you.

I heard Divya suppress a laugh.

Me - Shut up, Romi! It is nothing like that.

Divya - Then, what is the matter di?

She put a plate in front of me and dropped a sandwich.

I didn't answer her, because I wanted this to be only between him and me.

Him and me?

Was I turning mad? I think I was.

I bit into my sandwich.

Me - Divi, you should change into a saree, you know na Maasi is coming back today. She will faint if she sees you wearing this.

Yes, our Maasi is a little old fashioned. I have been wearing sarees at home since I passed the twelfth. She even insisted on us wearing sarees outside but due to repeated protests from Divya, she lets us wear full sleeved kurtis and tops with leggings. No jeans, skirts and short dresses allowed.

Divya laughed.

Divya - Yes, di, I will keep in mind. Romi, you take this shirt of yours and keep it in your wardrobe.

Finally, Romi looked up from his laces.

Romi - Haan, Divya. You will not need my shirts anymore. Someone else is there now...

He smirked.

I knitted my brows at Divya, she blushed and turned to her cooking.

Romi - Do you know Drishti? Divya has been talking and laughing on her phone with someone till two in the morning.

Romi was smirking uncontrollably now, Divya blushed more.

Me - How many points do I get for guessing?

I teased.

Romi - No points, the answer is obvious.

Me - You have been getting along really well with Sikhar, haven't you, Divya?

I choose a simple lemon yellow saree with a plain black blouse to wear this afternoon. There were no prints, patterns or borders on the saree, but yet, it's ethniticy remained unique. Usually, I did pleats on my pallu and pinned them to my blouse, but today, I only pinned the front of the pallu to my blouse. The rest part cascaded down my shoulder and fell elegantly over my left hand, bent near my stomach.
The saree was semi transparent and to be honest, for the first time ever in my life, I felt secure even when my waist and belly button were clearing visible through the thin material.
I put my hair in a simple braid and a few strands slipped out, framing the side of my face.
