DRISHTI'S POV

As I bent down and captured his lips, I felt his hands leave my ankle and roam around my bare back, covered only by the thin knot of my blouse. The butterflies in my stomach set free - dancing in every possible direction. I let my hands caress his neck, his hair, feel his muscular body beneath his kurta.

He pulled apart, breaking the kiss and looking into my eyes.

~ "Drishti, I thought you - you didn't want to..."

He trailed off.

I looked down, a little ashamed of my sudden lustful kissing act.

Focusing on my hands, which now rested upon my lap, I took a deep breath.

~ "I don't know, Rakshit... I don't know what I want..."

~ "What do you mean?"

He gently rested his hands upon mine, the touch surprisingly warm.

~ "I mean - I don't know - I want you, Rakshit, I do -"

I made eye contact with him, his jet black eyes unreadable.

~ "But whenever I come close to you... It is - umm - how do I phrase it? I - umm - feel guilty..."

~ "Guilty? Why?"

Rakshit knitted his eyebrows, apparently confused.

~ "I don't know... It's as if I am - umm - cheating on Akash -"

His name sent a cold shiver down my spine.

Rakshit took a deep breath and tilted my chin upwards. Hesitantly, I met his eyes, as he strengthened his hold on my hands.

~ "Drishti -"

His voice was fragile.

~ "I hope that you understand that you are no longer committed to him by any means?"

I nodded.

~ "Then what is it that is bothering you?"

I shook my head slightly.

~ "I don't know."

Okay, now I get it, I sounded like a completely messed up bitch who had no idea where her life was going.

But Rakshit did not react. He took another breath, and gripped my shoulders.

~ "Okay, Drishti, so, what do you want to do?"

I remained silent, afraid that my only answer would be I don't know.

He took another deep breath.

~ "You know, Drishti, you will have to move on someday." Someday. Not today. "The world stops for nobody." He ain't nobody, he means - meant so much to me. "He was your scarred past, Drishti." And you are my picture perfect present and the idea of losing you scares me more than I would ever admit.

He snapped his fingers lightly in front of my face.

~ "What happened? Were you listening?"
