Alexander's POV

After math class, Isaiah said we head to lunch with the gang. Ever since that basketball game, Zander suggested that we create a small group with only the five of us. It really felt heart melting when someone officially adds me to a small group.

As me and Isaiah sat on a random seat inside the cafeteria, the other guys came inside. They took a seat at the vacant seats on the table.

"Shit, sorry for being late. Zander here had Cleaning duty after their class because he forgot to bring another homework he left." Blake reasoned scratching the back of his neck then pointing to the boy beside him.

"Hey! It was just an english homework. I finished it, I just forgot to bring it." Zander murmured back.

"So what? It's still the same. You still had no homework." Blake concluded making Zander fall silent.

Isaiah chuckled before speaking
"It's okay, mate. We also just got here."

After that, we started to eat our lunches and started small talking.

"Ummmm, Alex?" Isaiah murmured. I look at him and met his oceanic blue eyes.

"I kinda..." he pauses scratching the back of his neck.

"I changed my class schedule." that hit me.

Who's gonna protect me from Roman now?

"I really wish not to but it was just some difficulties with some subjects." he reasoned. "But don't worry, there are still periods where we can meet." I lowered my head and slowly nodded.

"Don't worry, Alex. We're still gonna be able to meet at some subjects." he said and I just smiled and nodded my head for the second time.

"Oh, Alex I almost forgot." Tyler said from the other side of the table. "I also changed my schedule so you'll be having Home Economics with me after lunch." He finished making me smile in the process.

"Don't worry, mate. I'll be taking care of your little Alex here." Tyler said looking at Isaiah.

"You better." Isaiah replied back showing a fake glare like he's serious.

Phew! What a relief. At least I'll be in someone's protection. I thought.

After that small conversation, the bell finally rang signalling the end of lunch.

“Well guys, duty calls.” Tyler announced standing up his chair.

“Alex” he added making me look at him. “Shall we?” he said lending a hand giving me a sign that he's saying "let's go". I quickly obliged and stood up before waving my friends goodbye.

As Tyler and I walk away from the cafeteria, he started to break the silence.

“Nice glasses by the way.” he said. I just smiled and nodded at him. “It suits you.” he added.

As we walked down the hallway, we were met with three bodies stopping us from our tracks. Roman, smirking from the other end of our frames while his two assistants, stood a little behind him.

“Well, well, well. What do we have here?” he said in a devilish tone. “Two book worm nerds walking across the school.” he finished earning a small laughs and high fives from his small group.

I felt aghast from his words and I can sense the next action they're going to make. Tyler seemed to notice my discomfort so he reached out to grab my hand and signalled me to get behind him. So I obliged.

“Aweee~ lil mute is afraid.” a guy from behind Roman said.

“Yeah, mute. Don't be afraid. We're just making friends.” the other guy said, smirking.

Friends? Fuck your words. I thought.

Tyler was about to walk passed them with me behind his back when Roman grabbed Tyler's arm and stopped us for the second time.

“Hey, hey. Where are you going? We're not done yet.” Roman said tightening the grip on Tylers arm in which, Tyler doesn't seem to look hurt even if the grip was tightened.

“We have classes to attend to, do you mind? And yes, we are done here. Now let go.” Tyler retorted back shrugging his arm off so that Roman's grip would loosen.

As his arm was free, we walked away from them and went to Home Economics. As wee enter the room, students came in and flooded the whole room followed by the teacher.

I sat beside Tyler on a random seat and the teacher started teaching us about ways on how to cook Maja Blanca. She explained to us every step to create her so called "Perfect dish"

As the final bell rang, the students came running out of the classroom and rushing towards their ways home.

Tyler and I walked together to meet the gang by the gate. Zander made a group for the five of us so that we'll inform each other our plans like where we'll be meeting after school or our hang out places.

Blake texted us half and hour before classes end that we'll be hanging out for a moment after class and meet by the gate. Everyone sent yes's so I had no choice. I don't wanna be a party pooper or what so I had to go with it.

As we reach the gate, there they were. Sitting on a bench waiting for us. As Zander caught view of us, he immediately stood up making the other two boys follow in confusion. And once they saw what Zander's commotion was, the two of them calmed down.

“What took the two of you so long?” Zander asks stepping closer to us to give us both welcoming hugs.

“Sorry, our Home Economics teacher was teaching us this dish that someday she would turn it into a project and force us to cook at school.” Tyler replied.

“What dish?” Isaiah asks walking and standing besides Zander.

“I don't know I think it was Maja Blanca?” Tyler replied in a questioning matter.

“Woah, you're cooking that?” Blake replied rushing towards our direction.

“I don't know. She said someday we'll be making that as a Home Economics project.” Tyler replied with a shrug.

“My mom made that when I was young. She said that it's an asian dish specifically in the Philippines. It's a Filipino favorite and it's ingredients are mainly in the asian continent.” Blake explained. “I've tasted it once and it felt heaven.” he ended.

“Mmm, it probably tastes yummy from the expression he's showing.” Zander cut in.

“Not just yummy. It's the most delicious asian dessert I've ever tasted!” Blake talked back throwing his hands in the air showing his expression.

“Now let's go get some of those Jollibee burgers and spaghetti's. I'm starving.” Isaiah said. We all agreed and followed him to his car. It's been a while since he used his car to go to school now.

Well, another free car ride again.
