Chapter 5 - Chunin Exams (part one)

Day 2 of the Second Part of Chunin Exams – (Y/N)'s point of View

I woke up with my eyes widen open and in terrifying shock. It all felt like a nightmare and I thought it was. Until I start feeling the sharp pain all over my body the moment I try to get up. However, I remain lying on the ground and unsure where am I.

"(y/n)! You're finally awake!" Harumo said to me in relief. I look at her a little confused. "The three of you have been asleep since that crazy battle we had. It's been two days, and the boys are still asleep. But don't worry, I was able to take care of you and take us here for safety."

I turn my head to the right and see the boys. Both are passed out. Then I remember what happened. We were fighting to the deaths with this crazy guy who had a giant snake. His whole body acts like a snake, too. He even bit Sasuke and did something to him. His pet giant snake ate Uzumaki while putting Harumo in terrible fear of dying with illusions. I was hit with that as well, and it affected me the most. When I got control as well as close to winning, he released a lot of snakes that shot out swords out of their mouths. Slicing all over my body deeply no matter how much I dodged. I didn't move after feeling visions of memories of my abuse came, but somehow, that felt worse than years ago. However, I know for sure that I didn't die. Then I remember something important while slowly becoming unconscious. He burned our scroll.

"Harumo..." I said while trying to get up. Ignoring my pain.

"Wait, don't move," she said, holding onto my shoulder and arm. "You need rest and-"

"We need to get the scrolls..." I said, pushing her off me and sitting up.

"I know, but how? The three of you still need rest, and I can't leave you-" I stop Harumo from speaking with my hand up.

I crawl out under the tree and slowly stand up, "I'm going..." I said while still getting up. She then grabs my arm.

"Are you crazy?! You want a death wish?! You're still bleeding, so you can't just leave!" Harumo shouts begging me to stay.

"So, you want me to stay and protect you and the boys, then we all die because you gave up due to fear?!" I shout back at her.

She makes a shocking face, but another expression as well. I'm not angry, but I guess she's also sad or maybe scared. I'm actually scared, too. But I can't let fear hold me back. That crazy snake freak really got to me with those illusions and forcing me to remember my abuse. I can't let it happen and very much can't run into him again. This is why I need to get help, which is by getting those scrolls and coming back to carry the boys to the tower. I let out a deep sigh and looked at her in the eyes.

"Sakura," I say her first name. "If I can find those scrolls, we all might get treatment and get the hell of this forest, if I hurry. I know I'm very injured, but this is not the place and time to give up. You're smart enough to know we can't stop now after how far we've gone."

All Sakura do is go deep in thought to what I said. Maybe just trying to decide whether to split up or not. After a few seconds, she slowly let go of my arm. I look at her, then glance at the sleeping boys. Uzumaki– I mean, Naruto was hit hard and even been eaten. Sasuke is in more trouble than Naruto as he sweats in his sleep. What the crazy psycho did to him, it better not kill him. I put on my hood and was about to activate my Shizengan.

"Wait," Sakura said, stopping me. "Don't waste your chakra by shielding us for a very long time while you're gone. I can protect them. I'm planning to put some more traps anyway. I'm strong, too, so remember that."

I look at her for a moment. She does have a strong spirit, but is it really enough? She's wise and sharp, but not physically good in battle. Also, it is annoying and crazy jealous towards me for some reason when I walk next to Sasuke. Overall, she's still my teammate, and it's up to us at this point. We both have to do what we can to get out of the forest before the test ends, then continue to the final part of the exams.
