Eight Months Later

"When will you be back?" Kiba asks me while laying on the grass with his hands behind his head. I sit with my legs crossed and looking down at him.

"My brother said six months at the most," I answer him.

"That's too long!" He complains.

"Not as long as Naruto, which is eight months now," I remind him.

"Fine, but make it shorter so... We all won't miss you so much." He said and closed his eyes from the sun.

It's been eight months since Naruto left home to continue his training with Master Jiraiya. It's also been eight months since Sakura and I have been training with Lady Tsunade and Lady Mei. Actually, everyone here has been training hard due to Naruto's positive spirit of never giving up and continuing to get stronger. The village has been quiet during these months as well. It was so quiet that I could go to the Hidden Sand Village to see Kagome, but I couldn't do that. In her last letter, she said she's going on a year or two years long mission finding the rest of Orochimaru's hidden lairs. She wouldn't give me details about it, but I hope she's okay and her mission is a success. What's more surprising is that Akamaru and Spicy don't bother chasing and fighting each other anymore due to Kiba and I spending a lot of time together after our training. Akamaru is starting to get big now. He's at my knee height now, but Kiba weirdly doesn't notice.

I look at Kiba, who still has his eyes closed. Most likely relaxed now. I oddly pulled out a grass weed and used it to lightly touch his face. He opens his eyes and smiles at me. I start to feel a little warmth inside me right at that moment he smiles. Then, he lightly touches my hand to stop touching his face with the weed. He looks at my hand and holds it with a little serious expression.

"How are you, by the way? With... You know..." He asks me a question that I already know what he was asking.

"Fine, I promise. Shun is, too. It took us by surprise, but at least she was happy to know that Shun got married. He and I are bonding again, too," I answer him.

Momo passed away two weeks ago. She had a terrible fever that wouldn't go away. We took care of her until she died in her sleep. When Shun heard the news, he distanced himself again. When I did, I destroyed everything in my room and locked myself in there until Shun stopped distancing himself and tried to comfort me. Which is one of the reasons why we're leaving. The first week, we'll be having a funeral at Nekobaa's home where all of Momo's family and friends can say their goodbyes. Shun has another reason he wants us to be gone for six months and will tell me after the funeral.

"The lady who's training you won't mind you being gone for that long, right?" Kiba asks me another question.

"She said it's fine as long as I'm still improving my training," I answer him.

Like I said, I am continuing my lessons with Lady Mei. My fighting blind and senesing my opponent's movements still needs more work, but I was able to move on to my last two levels. The fourth lesson was healing, which I had to learn with Ino and Sakura under Lady Tsunade for a while. I was able to learn it quickly, but my problem is that I can heal myself better than healing on others. Next, I learned how the body works , and Lady Mei finally showed me how she was able to paralyzed me so easily called Chi pressure points. It's a little similar to the Chakra Blocking, but less deadly. This one focuses on the body being numb, not able to move, and doesn't last too long. Then my last lesson she gave me is summoning. Which means a blood contract with the lizards. That was another lesson I am having trouble on since I can only summon the small white ones that heal split body parts and nothing else. At least if I get poison, I can heal myself. Or got my arm cut off, and I can re-attach it. Without a life being taken away. Which is three, by the way.
