Chapter 15 - Betray (part one)

(Y/N)'s Point of View

I was told by Kakashi Sensei the day after Naruto, Sakura, Sasuke, and I returned from The Land of Tea. He told me he wants me to come to the academy and didn't tell me why. However, he did told me that Lady Tsunade wants to see me along with him and other Jounins. When I arrived there, I wasn't the only one who she had called for. Shikamaru is there as well. I stand next to him, and we face at our Hokage, her assistant, our senseis, and other jounins who were in the Chunin Exams.

"To be honest, I really don't know what to do," Lady Tsunade starts to speak to us. "With the exams being expanded, it was upping of many that none of the students should pass this time of round. Including the both of you... But I hear the late Third Hokage highly praised the both of you. It seems he recommended you both."

My eyes widen in surprise that the Third Hokage really recommended me to be a Chunin. I didn't continue to the finals with the others because I was forced to forfeit even though I won. I would've continued if the guy from the Sound Village hadn't gone missing. As well as Shun hadn't suggested I don't continue. Shikamaru clearly did a better job, yet he forfeited, but on his own terms. He may be lazy, but I knew his IQ was high and probably higher than mine. I know I was the top student in the academy and had a chance to skip to Genin at age ten, but once again, my brother answered for me.

Lady Tsunade continues, "The lords of our lands who observe the fights and the proctors were the same option as well. In this case, my words don't matter. From this day forward, you both will stand as Chunins."

Minutes Later

I walk out of the academy wearing my Chunin vest while my jacket is in my hands. It didn't really look good with my jacket over and under it, so I took it off. Sad because I really want to wear my hood. The vest really doesn't suit me, but I guess I can get used to it. Once I am outside, I start making my way to the hospital where Sasuke is resting. I already know Sakura and Naruto are there by now.

Halfway there, I notice Kakashi Sensei standing there and noticing my presence, "Well, you look like a grown woman now. I'm very proud to be your sensei," He said happily.

"You recommended me to the Third Hokage, didn't you? Why? Don't you favor Sasuke more?" I ask him.

"As always, you are quick on your feet," he said and started walking, and I caught up to him. "Although Sasuke is skilled, I sense you're much worthy. You can see things through hard situations. You maintain chakra and physic balance. Plus, you were recommended to become a Genin at a young age due to jutsu, weapons, battles, and solving problems. You also notified me what goes on when you kids are on missions without me."

"However, I often run off and separate myself from my team," I said to him.

"Yes, but to protect them. Even apart, you fought with them," Kakashi Sensei said. "I asked the others about the missions."

"Which brings me back to my other question. Why didn't you recommend Sasuke?" I ask him again. We stop right in front of the hospital building.

Kakashi Sensei turns to face me with a serious look, "I didn't recommend him because I felt he still needs time to learn," he admits to me. "If you haven't noticed, he's getting more angry just for losing. Go off on his own and not concerned about his team. As well as going to far beating up the enemy. He seems to be showing off his strength too much..."
