Spiraling

Chapter 15

Team 10 was called to the Hokage's office for an experiment. When they entered Naruto was busy putting on final touches to what seem to be earrings. He paid no mind to Ino and Choji and only gave a brief smile to his boyfriend before concentrating back on his work.

"Naruto has made a break through in our communication methods, I'd like you to be the first to test try it." Lady Tsunade said proudly. "Since your one of the few squads that have pierced ears you'll wear it on a simple B ranked mission."

"So give me your ears." Naruto said as he sanitized the earrings in alcohol. Ino was first up and took her time admiring Naruto's calm handsome face. He treated her ears gently and when they were done she noted that his ears were newly pierced.

Next was Choji then Shikamaru when it was installed Naruto's voice came ringing in their ears loud and clear. "So can you guys hear me?" 

"Your mouth isn't moving." Choji said in confusion. Naruto made a mental note that the answer was yes.

"This is a prototype for our new communication methods. This way we won't be giving out our location by babbling into an ear piece. The way how this works is that a very thin string of chakra links all these pieces together so we can share our positions, have conversations in crowded areas in undercover assignments. If you're captured they won't think to remove that piece of accessory, because it's so common. I'm surprised no one came up with this." Naruto said as he pulled out a small note book.

"So on your mission I want you guys to maximize your usage of this even if your having mindless chatter. It's linked to your brain so tell me if you have any headaches, if you feel light headed, blurred vision or if you become nauseous. This string of chakra doesn't have a range, if for any reason you lose connection with each other then mark the distance you were away from each other." Naruto said while taking small notes.

"If this works without glitches then mass production is in order." Tsunade announced. "Naruto it's pretty obvious your heading the making of these."

"More work." Naruto groaned. "If this was going to happen then I wouldn't have even bothered bringing this to you." That earned him a punch in the head that would've planted any normal shinobi in the floor below them but Naruto only hissed in annoyance.

"Alright fine, I'll head the stupid project but I want my cut of the profits." Tsunade agreed.

"Do you have anymore projects in the working?" Ino asked curiously.

"I do but this was the main one since I was figuring out how to advance communication." Naruto closed his notebook and pushed it in his jacket pocket. "I'll head back to my dungeon to figure which one is a main project since this is in the final stages." 

"Good Luck." Tsunade said as he headed for the door. Naruto nodded and gave Shikamaru a peck before heading out. "Now with him gone it's time for your mission."

Team 10 looked alert once again. "Wait what about Asuma-sensei?" Choji asked.

"He's out on a recon mission with Kakashi and Sai." Lady Hokage informed before pulling out a blue scroll. "Yours is like that but you'll be gathering intel on a child smuggling ring that has been operating in the area of three civilian villages. It comes as obvious you'll be taking a village each and relay information to each other to make this all the more easier. You set out now and return in 2 days. When you present the information we'll send in Anbu to round up the children they have stolen." 

"It's awful how sick people can be." Shikamaru commented as they headed their separate ways to pack for the two day mission, they had about 3 hours to meet at the gate to head off. Shikamaru had a system were his bag is always ready for long missions at the door of his house. So when he went home her told his parents hat's going on and picked the bag up from the door and headed to the main gate. To his surprise he crossed Naruto's path as he saw the blond talking to Anko.

It looked like a normal conversation since Anko had one of her poker faces on then the strangest thing happened Anko blushed. Her face was totally red and she looked away embarrassed before pointing a finger at Naruto. "You came onto me!" She yelled, it didn't take Shikamaru much to figure out what she meant.

By now he was behind Naruto and he knew that Naruto knew he was behind him. "Anko save it, I'm taken."

"Since when did you give two fucks about a honest relationship." She noticed Shikamaru and pulled him forward. "You and Naruto are the same age right? Tell him teenagers don't do honest relationships." Shikamaru raised an eyebrow in confusion.

"What have I been dragged into now." Shikamaru asked.

"Well among older female ninjas it's common knowledge that Naruto has left a great impression on girls he's fucked. He's big and he knows the wonders of the female body. But as of late he keeps turning down people he would've banged without a second thought. And all for someone who wants to be selfish and own him." Anko sighed in frustration.

"Naruto please, I'm stressed and I need a good plowing of my field and your the only one available." 

"Anko I'm taken, in fact your holding him right now." Naruto said with a ever growing smirk. Anko seemed to freeze before looking at Shikamaru who gave a nod in agreement.

"You do realize your with a man whore right?" Anko questioned. "What did he say to lure you in. Naruto's sweet with words."

"Yet your here begging for a fuck." Naruto grumbled. "Besides it's Shikamaru who lured me in, at first I thought he'd be down for a quick fuck in Suna but he was after something more. So I'm learning how to be with someone."

Anko was stunned, she released Shikamaru and gave him an overall impressed look. "Shikamaru whatever your trying I commend you for doing that but Naruto's a sex demon, unless your feeding him properly I don't see him staying loyal with so many willing people around." 

Shikamaru felt sick as Anko walked away, Naruto sighed. "Don't listen to her, she's just cranky."

"And I suppose you'd know." Shikamaru couldn't help that snappy reply. Naruto narrowed his eyes.

"Of course I do, I work with her. I've worked with her for a long time alongside Ibiki." He asked as he folded his arms. "What's with that tone?"

"Nothing, nothing just surprised with how much she seems to know about your love life." Shikamaru knew he was being petty, that he shouldn't go scratching at wounds that were barely closed but he couldn't help it. Just the thought of Naruto having so much experience in a field were he had absolutely no knowledge in made him feel insecure.

"I'm not doing this," Naruto said feeling his anger spike. Nope, he wasn't going to start a fight with Shikamaru, not now. Not ever. 

"Doing what." Shikamaru baited. 

"This, I'm not doing this with you." Naruto gestured between them. "I'm not going to start something with you just because your intimidated by my obvious body count." He turned and walked away from the raven.

"Wait Naruto!" Shikamaru yelled at the obviously angry boyfriend he had but Naruto was too far and he had to go. "I'm sorry, I'll say it when I come back."

Shikamaru headed off to his mission while Naruto found himself in a bar.
