Waking up in the arms of someone you weren't in a relationship with was strange, yet comforting.
For a while, I laid next to Arvin, head on his chest as I debated moving or waking him up. When I had first seen him, he looked like he hadn't slept in days, and I wanted him to get as much sleep as he could.
But while this was happening, I also thought about how we could get money. We wouldn't be able to get jobs, we didn't live... wherever we were.
We couldn't sell anything because there was nothing for us to sell.
I heard Arvin's breathing quickly change, my head raising to turn and look at him. "Morning Arvin." I said quietly as he grumbled, the faintest smile appearing on his lips.
"Mornin' Emily." He responded quietly, opening his eyes slowly. I sat up so he could, a yawn escaping his throat.
"So. Stay in town for a little longer or head back on the road?" He said as he turned to me. For a moment, I debated staying here with Arvin in the motel, but I realized we were still too close to Cincinnati.
"We should probably leave. But we are running short on money.." I said as Arvin sighed, nodding.
"I- This might be an insanely bad idea... Have you ever heard of Bonnie and Clyde?" Arvin asked as I looked at him, my eyes widening.
"Arvin-"
"I know. I know.. but there isn't any other way we can get money. We can't get jobs, and god forbid I'd have to sell my toes to get $3!" Arvin Joked as J let out a short laugh before my face turned serious.
"Arvin. I've only ever stolen a candy bar from the local store as a child! I can't commit another crime like that!" I said as Arvin gave me a pleading look.
I knew he was right. There was no other way we could get money. But for some reason, my mind started to think it was a good idea.
"Emily. We need the money. We can't go anywhere with the money we got right now." Arvin said as he leaned towards me. I looked between his eyes, a determined look slowly clouding my fearful look as I hesitated before nodding.
"You got any clue how we will do this?" I asked as an evil look spread across Arvin's face.
And for a moment, I felt something spark inside me.

If anything, I had never been so scared in my life. I questioned why the police station was so far from a bank, but Arvin and I ignored it.
It would be too late for the bank teller to reach the phone.
Arvin had bought a gun had the local weapons store, and we quickly made our way to the bank. For some reason, we chose to not wear any mask, since we'd be in and out, our faces on the ground so no one could identify us.
I had bought a hat much like Arvin's, pulling it down to cover my eyes as we walked into the bank, hiding our guns.
"Hello! What can I help you with?" A man asked as Arvin and I glanced at one another, a short and quick nod aimed at each other.
"Just give us some money and we will be on our way." I said as the bank teller frowned, tilting his head.
"I beg your pardon?" I quickly grew impatient, pulling out my gun and aiming it at the man, who shot his hands up.
"I don't like repeating myself, sir. Now get the damn money, or I'll shoot you in the head without a second thought." I said with a low voice as I noticed the corner of Arvin's mouth twitch into a smirk.
"Holy shit. Um- yes ma'am.." the bank teller whimpered, running back to grab a bag and money. I held my gun up still, glancing up at Arvin, who smiled at me.
"This is insane." I whispered to him as I felt his hand touch my lower back.
"If anything, youre doing great." He whispered into my ear, which sent a shiver up my spine. The bank teller came back with two pale yellow bags, which were filled to the brim with cash.
A wide smile crossed Arvin and I's faces. I yanked the bags from his hands. "Tell anyone about this, and I'll have your head." I threatened as the man nodded.
Arvin and I backed out of the bank, throwing ourselves into the car that was hidden in the alleyway. We both gasped for the breath we had held, a relieved smile on our face.
I turned to Arvin as he turned to me, a grin on our faces as J squealed with joy.
"Holy SHIT I can't believe I robbed a bank." I said as Arvin nodded, starting the car up as we quickly drove away.
"That. Was crazy." Arvin said as I gulped, nodding as I ran a hand through my hair.
"I don't know if I can do that again, Arvin." I said as I turned to him. Arvin looked at me for a moment before his eyes went back to the road, glancing at me every now and then.
"It will be fine, Emily. For now, we got all the money we need. For now, we can relax, and find a place to stay for a few nights." Arvin said as I nodded, slouching back into my chair.
I looked out the window, my heart and mind still racing. All I could think about was what God would think of me, but at this point I could care less.
I needed to survive, one way or another.
I let God ring to voicemail.
And answered the call of the Devil.
