I re-read that letter a second time, not wanting to waste time as I folded it back up, placing it in raggedy Ann's arms and shoving her deep in Arvin's bag.
I rushed around, frantically packing our bags, looking at the assortment of candy. I frowned, realizing I'd have to carry a bunch of bags and cotton candy.
A sticky situation, he put me in.
But it will be worth it... I hope.
I grabbed my everything, struggling to open the hotel door for a moment before I ran out, the cotton candy almost falling out of my hands as I ran to the car, unlocking it.
"In a hurry?" A random person said as I gave the a scowl, terrifying them as they scurried off back to the hotel, stomping out their cigarette.
I opened the trunk, nicely but quickly shoving our bags into it before slamming it shut, opening the bag door and very neatly putting the candy in the back.
I still held the two sticks of cotton candy when I hopped into the front seat, starting the car, and waiting.
My heart raced as I stared ahead, wide eyed, with a cotton candy stick in each hand.
I probably looked insane to a passerby. But they don't know insane until they've truly met me.
I heard yelling, my head snapping to my outdoor mirror to see Arvin, sprinting to the car as fast as his legs could go, several, very large bags of money in his hands, his gun holding onto his pants for fear life.
He had a mask on as he flung himself into the front seat, hurling the bags of money in the bag, narrowly missing the candy.
"G- cotton candy?!" Arvin said as I quickly nodded. He ripped off his mask, a grin on his face as he took the cotton candy from my hands, allowing me to back out quickly, zooming out of the parking space.
"You have... NO IDEA... How happy I am to know you read that letter. I would have been so fucked if you didn't." He said, breathing heavily as he tore off a small piece of cotton candy, practically drooling at the sight.
"You THINK?! Arvin you could have told me you were going to rob a damn bank!" I said, one arm flailing violently around as I drove with the other hand, not daring to take my eyes off the road.
"Give me that. I need something to eat." I said, snatching my cotton candy from him as his eyes widened, his pupils already dilating.
"Jesus Emily... Where did you find all this candy?" Arvin asked, looking behind us as his eyes widened in excitement.
"There's a candy shop in 5th Avenue a block from the hotel we were staying in. You said you love candy so... thought I'd do something good." I replied as I ate my cotton candy rather quickly. I had forgotten what it tasted like, I hadn't had it since I was 12 when I went to the local festival.
"But seriously Arvin what the hell?! You could have died!" I said with a frown as Arvin gulped, giving me a nervous smile as his leg began to bounce up and down.
"I'm fine, Emily. Really! Everyone was very obedient, and I was in and out within 20 minutes! The cops just got there when I left." Arvin said with a smile as I tossed the stick behind me, disgracing it's existence.
"You... Are insane." I said with a laugh as Arvin chuckled.
"Only for you." He said as I rolled my eyes.
"You're practically the Joker, but nicer and less... white." I joked as Arvin laughed, looking at me with longing in his eyes.
"Then I guess you, my darling, are my Harley Quinn. The Bonnie to my Clyde... and so on and so forth or whatever." He said with a laugh as I snickered, sighing as I shook my head.
"The Bonnie to your Clyde..." I repeated with a grin. I then frowned once we reached the highway, looking back at the bags of money. I counted 8, a look of shock in my face.
"How heavy were the bags?" I asked as Arvin chuckled.
"Too damn heavy." He said as I looked at him then back at the road ahead of me.
"How much? Money." I asked as his smile widened. He slowly turned to me.
"1.7 million." I gasped, slamming on the breaks, causing Arvin and I to lean forward aggressively.
"ONE POINT SEVEN MILLION??" I screamed, the biggest smile on my face as Arvin nodded. I squealed with glee as I brought him into a tight hug before I grabbed his face, smashing our lips together.
"How the hell did you carry 1.7 million dollars to the hotel?!" I asked as I slowly started the car. Arvin sighed, shrugging.
"I will never know, darling. But we sure are going to make it into the history books. And no one will even know our names." He said as I smiled widely, nodding.
"You're damn right, Arvin. You are god damned right."

I hate that at night is when I get the best ideas for the chapters. But it also sometimes means that they will be short, like this one.Hope y'all didn't actually think Arvin was gonna die. Because I wouldn't do that. I have a GIANT plot twist coming for y'all when I end this book.
So get ready for that 😈 even though it won't be for a while.
