Our short drive through Idaho was mainly quiet, but every time Arvin and I looked at one another, we ended up bursting into a laughing for for no apparent reason.
The sun was rising by the time we hit Washington, a relieved smile on my face.
We were so close. And then we were free.
But, I had a terrible feeling. As Arvin drove us to the nearest motel, I felt like something bad was going to happen like it did at every motel.
Hopefully it was just a feeling and not a sense of the future.
Arvin and I quickly slipped into the room, not wanting to stay outside for too long, in case there was someone waiting for us, or a drunk man or woman wanting to get in our pants.
I was tired of beating people up for that.
"So... we are finally alone." Arvin said with a smile as he grabbed my hips, pulling me towards him as I chuckled, my hands rubbing up and down his chest before resting on his shoulders.
"Yes. We are. And I want to have fun tonight.. but I'm tired." I said as Arvin furrowed his brows, giving me a sad look as I dragged him to the bed.
I just threw myself in the bed, taking Arvin with me as he towered over my body. A smile crept onto his lips as I rolled my eyes.
I pulled him into a kiss, his hand on the side of my neck before I sat up and off the bed after just getting on it.
"I, am going to go change." I said through a kiss before grabbing my bag, walking into the bathroom as I heard Arvin groan.
I quickly changed into my pajamas, which consisted of a fairly expensive silk top I had bought a while back, and a pair of soft shorts.
I flipped down next to Arvin, who had managed to change faster than me as I sighed, wrapping a single arm over him as his rested on my shoulders, holding me close.
"Goodnight Arvin." I whispered as he mumbled quietly.
"Goodnight darlin." He said with a kiss to the forehead before his breathing quickly changed, hearing him fall asleep.
I smiled, scooting up so I could get to his face, kissing his cheek before resting my head on his shoulder, our legs tangled together as I fell asleep.

I was thankful for a full night in a motel. We never got that. I opened my eyes to see Arvin picking up our bags, a smile on his face when he noticed I woke up.
"The cops aren't after us, are they?" I said as he shook his head, a relieved smile on my face.
"You know what that means right?" He asked as I smiled, getting on my hands and knees as I crawled to the end of the bed, taking out our passports we had bought back in Wisconsin.
"Canada!" I yelled in excitement as I stood up on the bed. Arvin opened his arms as I practically jumped into them, wrapping my legs around his waist, my arms around his neck as I smiled widely.
My forehead rested on his before we brought one another into a celebratory kiss, the smiles still on our faces.
Arvin set me down as I started jumping with glee, taking his hands in mine as he laughed, smiling as wide as I was.
"We'll finally be out of here, Arvin! We won't have to be runnin from the law anymore! We'll be free!" I said as Arvin pressed his lips together into a thin smile, nodding.
"Are you ready, baby?" He said as I squealed, doing a weird thing with my legs as I walked over to my bag, picking it up.
"We are in southern Washington. It should take us a couple hours to get to the border." Arvin said as I slipped into the passengers seat.
At this point, I didn't care how long it took. As long as we were finally going to Canada, I was happy. And as long as I was going to live in Canada with Arvin, I was ecstatic.
We got onto the road, bright smiles on our faces as we began our journey to our new home.
