(Warning: things boutta get a little bit hot and spicy
( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°))4 months later
The only people to show up at the wedding were Maria, her husband Jeremiah, and their son, Lincoln Parker (hehe. See what I did there... Lincoln Parker ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°))
Lincoln was now somewhere around 5-6 months old, and he was just the cutest thing I've laid eyes on. I couldn't wait to start a family with Arvin.
And for a reason I knew, he felt the same.
We had been talking about it for the past few months, and we had chosen that today would be the day. I was most definitely nervous, seeing as it was my first time.
But I had to worry about that later.
I looked down at my white laced wedding dress, which perfectly shaped my hourglass figure, the poofy skirt accentuating my body even more. The sleeves of my dress were purely lace with a floral design, ending with a ring thing that attached to my middle finger.
There was a dip in the back of the dress, one that I couldn't see, but I knew it looked good. Maria walked in, a large smile on her face as she held the bouquet of flowers.
"You ready, dear?" She asked as I looked in the mirror, my heart pounding. I had never been more nervous for something in my life.
"As ready as I'll ever be." J said, turning around, the skirt swaying as I walked with Maria.
I wish my family was here. My adoptive father would have loved to hand me off to the man I love. I just wished they had a little more time.
I heard "here comes the bride" start to play, my nervousness leaving as a smile appeared in my face. Jeremiah had chosen to hand me off, considering we had also grown to be good friends, and there wasn't any other person other then Maria to do it.
I looked down the aisle to see Maria smiling widely at me, and then I looked next to her to see an awestruck Arvin Russell, his puppy eyes widening with glee as he looked over at Maria, a smile on his face when he looked back at me.
I felt tears rising, forcing them back down as Jeremiah placed a reassuring hand on mine, smiling down at me.
I could see the faint movement of Arvin's lips as he spoke to himself.
As the music came to a stop, I walked up the few stairs to stand in front of Arvin. He had tears of joy forming in his eyes as I handed the bouquet to Maria who smiled as the priest walked over.
Everything went by in a fuzzy blur. The only face I couldn't take my eyes off of was Arvin's, whose hands were clasped tightly in mine as I held back joyful tears.
My speech was short and simple. I had promised Arvin that if he were to go through something dark, I'd follow him, and if he were to die, I'd follow him to heaven or hell.
I promised that I would take care of our future children with him, and that I'd love them endlessly.
He had promised the same, but out more words into it. Vows I would always remember until the day I died.
"Emily Rose Rowling. Do you take Arvin Eugene Russell to be your lawfully wedded husb-"
"I do." I interrupted as the priest chuckled, dismissing me cutting him off. He looked over to Arvin, who didn't even wait for the priest to start talking.
"I do." He said as the five of us chuckled.
"Then, by the power invested in me, I know pronounce you, Emily Rose Russell. You may kiss your bride." The priest said as he took a step back.
