For the next two weeks, Arvin and I stayed in a small hotel room, cheap, so we could buy a nice, somewhat large house with the money we still had.
I was going through a news article on homes for sale by the coast, when I came across one that rested up near the mountains, which had a beautiful view of both the large hills and the ocean.
It was a pale blue home with a large bay tower, the roof a dark wood stain. Two stories tall, the third story being a large loft. Thankfully, it came furnished, the design a rustic setting
It had four bedrooms, each one holding a bathroom. And a large bathroom on the second floor. The master bedroom was on the first floor, which I found odd, but I knew some nights I'd be far too lazy to go up the stairs.
The master bathroom was strange. It looked somewhat futuristic. The bathtub was strangely a curved triangular shape, with jets in it, a small fireplace on the wall that showed through to the bedroom.
It was such a lovely bathroom, and I definitely saw myself staying in there, many relaxing nights ahead of me.
Arvin walked into the hotel room as I looked over from the small desk, a beaming grin on my face.
"Any luck finding?" He asked as he walked over, giving me a kiss on the cheek as he supported his weight into the desk, looking at the article as I nodded quickly.
I described the house, a smile crossing Arvin's face as he listened, nodding eagerly.
"It sounds perfect." He replied as I shot up from the chair, gripping the news paper as I bounced up and down, wrapping my arms around Arvin as he laughed, hugging me back.
"I never imagined buying a house so young." I said as Arvin grinned, nodding in agreement. I looked over to the phone on the wall, practically zooming over to it as I dialed the number displayed next to the house.
"Hello? Hi! I saw the house for sale in a newspaper! I would like to buy it." I said as the woman in the other end hummed as she listened.
"A-Alright. When would you like to come to see it?" She asked as I looked at Arvin, who shrugged.
"Now? We want to get out of this hotel as soon as possible." I said as the lady chuckled.
"Alright doll. Now it is."

Maybe I should have thought over buying a house. Paperwork takes too long.
But it was all worth it.
Arvin and I spent the next week doing paperwork before we, ecstatically handed the woman, named Maria Gage Parker, smiled at us.
She had explained to us it would take a while last week, and she wasn't wrong. By the end of it, we were being informed that she had ended being pregnant.
And had fallen ill for a few short days. But it was all fine.
Maria handed us the keys to the house, tears of joy threatening to fall down my face as Arvin smiled at Maria, who gave him a soft smile back.
"You guys seem very happy with your decision." She said quietly as we nodded in unison.
"Never been happier about something in my life." I said as Maria chuckled. Over the course of the week, I had grown very fond of the landowner, and we had now become very close.
So close, that Maria was debating naming her child after me if it was a girl, which had made me very happy.
"I'll be coming back in a few weeks, check up on you guys, see the house, etc." she said as she began to take the steps down back to her car.
"Enjoy your new home, you two!" She said, waving through the window of her red car before driving out of the driveway. I smiled, waving goodbye as Arvin dragged me into the home.
I started screaming with joy, dancing around with Arvin as I smiled.
"We have a home, baby!" I said as Arvin laughed, bringing me into a hug. "We can finally be free of all things bad, get jobs!" I said as he smiled.
"We're free, and that's all that matters." Arvin said quietly as I placed my hands on the back of his neck, pulling him into a kiss, the smile still glued onto my face.
For months, I had waited for this. For months, I had stayed cooped up in a car, or motel, begging, wishing for the day that I would be free if the law.
For months, Arvin stood by my side as we ran, hand in hand to freedom.
For months, I had loved him to the point it killed me to not be near him.
And for months, I had been answering the Devil's call, wishing I could hang up at any moment.
But now, I was listening to God on the other end of the line, his halo shining brightly on my future with Arvin, killing the darkness of Satan.
Because now...
There was no time for the Devil's call.

Things are about to get spicy if you know what I mean ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)
But this is the third to last chapter before I write the epilogue. And that means everything's gonna be over soon :(
But thank you all SO MUCH FOR 6K! I love how far I have gotten with this book!
