Arvin
I didn't think my mind and heart could race this face from fear. Somehow, the state police had caught us, and now I was aggressively shaking Emily awake.
She grumbled from annoyance and being so tired, too tired in fact to even move. So now I had no other choice but carry out bags and her, dashing out the hotel.
"What-" she muttered as I practically threw I'm her in the passengers seat, jumping over the hood of the car and into the drivers seat as the sirens of police cars were heard in the distance, growing closer.
"Arvin what's going on?" Emily said, now wide awake, her eyes just as wide as she saw the flashing lights of the cops.
"They-They found us, Emily." I said as I quickly backed out of the hotel parking lot, speeding off.
The sirens grew distant, and I looked back to see the cops driving into the parking lot of the hotel. I breathed out a sigh of relief as I turned to drive onto the highway.
"What?!" She said, her hands gripping the seat as I looked at her.
"It will be fine, Emily. We got away. Now we just gotta make it to Indianapolis... and we'll be fine." I reassured her as she slowly nodded, trying to relax as she rubbed her face.
"We-We should have just killed-"
"Hey. We can't have any more deaths on your conscience... It's not a good thing." I said, my mind recalling the people I had killed in the previous week before I had found Emily.
I hated it. I didn't consider myself a bad person, but I hated that I had killed those people. But I did it for good reasons.
That preacher deserved what he got. I killed the sheriffs sister and her husband to protect myself. The sheriff was going to kill me if I didn't kill him first.
I did what I had to do.
I shook away the bad memories and thoughts as I turned to Emily, a terrified look on her face.
"We'll be fine, Em. Don't you worry." I said with a faint, thin lipped smile as she nodded, staring ahead at the road.
We drive in silence for a good few hours, the sun starting to rise off in the distance. My thumb tapped the steering wheel as I tried to focus on the road.
But all I could focus on was protecting Emily.
I didn't know why, but I felt that she needed the protection. Sure, she could handle herself fine, but she radiated with fear. She doubted herself, and thought she couldn't do anymore of this.
But soon, we'd be far away from this place, and she could live a life she wanted.
I just hoped that I would be with her when that happens.
We found a small park, no one had been there in what looked like forever, a small clearing in the woods for us to park our car and rest for a while before we headed back on the road.
Emily turned to me, a look I couldn't quite identify on her face. But it looked like regret. "Should we just turn ourselves in? I don't know if I can go on knowing I had a gun to someone's head and threatened to take their life if he didn't give us that money." Emily said as I shook my head.
"We need that money, Emily. You know that. I know you think you did something bad, but you did what you had to do." I said as she nodded slowly.
"For what it's worth, I'm proud of you." I said with a smile as she looked at me, a smile on her face as well. I caught her lookin leg at my lips for a moment, and I couldn't help but do the same.
My arm rested on the back of the car chair as I leaned towards Emily. For a mere moment, she hesitated, before leaning towards me.
Her eyes shut slowly as mine did, our lips finally meeting. She scooted closer, my other hand reaching to grab her neck, deepening the kiss.
I moved closer towards her, feeling the weight of the chair lift up as she moved her legs, sitting on my lap. Her hands held the back of my head as mine held her waist, moving up and down her thighs.
A soft moan escaped her mouth, my tongue slipping in and meeting hers as one of my hands trailed back up to her neck.
The hand that wasn't on her neck found her hand, holding it tightly.
We both pulled away, our chests heaving as we breathed heavily. Emily looked at me, a smile on her face as wide as mine. She pulled in for a short kiss before sliding off my lap.
"Suppose we head off to Indianapolis?" She said as she rested her forehead on mine. I smiled, nodding as I still held her hand. I briefly kissed her cheek before backing out of the clearing and back into the road.
My thumb ran circles on her hand as Emily rested her head on my shoulder, a smile on my face followed by a blush.
For a first kiss, that was quite a good one.

We made it to Nashville, Indiana, finding a small motel for us.I had to shake my shoulder to wake Emily up, a grumble escaping her as she looked around.
"Motel?" She said quietly as I nodded. We stepped out of the car, going to the lobby and getting a room.
But this time, we didn't care if it was a single or double bed, because Emily chose to sleep next to me that night.
Her back facing me, I wrapped my arms around her, pulling her close to me as our legs intertwined with one another.
Her hands connected with mine as she quickly fell sleep again, her soft and quiet breathing pulling me to sleep.

Another short one. I do not apologize for moving their relationship along quickly.
