Emily

By now, me and Arvin had dried off, on our way to find a cheap motel. Being short on cash, we needed to find a way to make more money.

And the idea I had in mind was not a good one.

As we walked into the lobby, the lady at the desk gave us a forced smile.

"One bed?" She asked as both Arvin and I'd eyes widened, quickly shaking our heads.

"Alright. Let's see he- oh.. we only have one open room. It's a single bed." She said, trying her best to hide the obvious poker face.

"That's um... that's alright, I suppose." I said as Arvin gave me a nervous look. The woman smirked as she glanced at Arvin, looking him up and down before grabbing a key, handing it to me.

"Enjoy your stay." She said with a preppy attitude, one I didn't find enjoyable. I gave her a very obvious fake smile before I ushered for Arvin to follow me.

I unlocked the motel room, closing it once Arvin walked in. He flipped on the lights, a nervous frown crossing our faces. All that was in the bedroom was a small bathroom, a tv with a stand.

And one queen sized bed. There was a wooden chair, and that was it. I glanced over at Arvin, who silently gulped as he walked over to the bed, setting his duffle bag in it.

"I'm going to take a shower." I stated as he looked over at me with a sort of frightened puppy look, nodding.

I walked into the bathroom, turning on the light switch. For an old motel, the bathroom was very well kept. It looked to have been cleaned recently, so that was good.

I slipped off my summer dress, my shoulders slacking back as I turned on the shower. While I waited for it to heat up, I brushed out my hair, even though it was going to get knotted when I washed it.

I placed my hand under the running water if the shower, it's heat warming my cold hand, a small sigh of relief escaping my throat when I stepped into the shower.

I dipped my head back, the water getting soaked up into my thin, waist-length hair. My lashes extended as the water hit my face.

I grabbed the shampoo as I began to him almost silently, washing my hair and feeling the bubbles form thickly into my hair, which started to feel heavy.

Rinsing out the shampoo and then going into my hair with conditioner, I stood in the shower for a little bit, my mind slowly starting to process the events of the past day.

I was fazed for only an hour after killing that man, and then I felt fine.

Was it bad that I didn't feel remorse for what I did? I killed someone, I should feel something...

But I didn't. No matter how hard I tried to feel bad for taking a life, my mind and heart just fought against one another.

I turned off the shower, stepping out and quickly drying myself off with a clean towel. I once again brushed my hair, slipping into a thin nightgown.

Maybe I should have brought one that didn't make it look like my boobs were popping out of my body.

I sighed quietly, ignoring the thought as I picked up my bag, stepping out of the bathroom as I bumped into Arvin.

"Oh. My bad." He said as he backed up, an awkward smile crossing his face as I chuckled quietly, walking past him as he walked into the bathroom.

I heard the shower start up again as I sighed, setting my bag on the wooden chair. I sat down on the bed, which strangely felt better than it looked.

I fell to the side, my head landing on the pillow gently. I shoved my hands under the pillow after I pulled the covers over my body, a sigh of relaxation escaping me.

My mind couldn't help but wander back to me and Arvin's lunch break, to where he had pinned me to the ground. A small smile crept onto my face, before I shook away the thought that came next.

I heard the water stop rushing, the door to the bathroom opening shortly after. The weight of Arvin sitting down on the bed is what made me turn to face him, the small smile still on my face.

He turned to face me, a smile also on his face. "I had fun today. Thank you for that." He said as I nodded.

"I had fun too." I replied as he laid down on his back, facing the ceiling. I did the same for a short while before I turned on my other side to face him as he turned his head to me.

"Goodnight Emily." Arvin said quietly as I smiled.

"Goodnight Arvin." I said to him as he turned, flicking off the lamp, the room going dark and quiet.

I shut my eyes, ignoring Arvin's shifting. That was, until I felt his hot breath hit my face.

I opened my eyes slowly, the moonlight shining through the small window, hitting half of his face. Arvin's eyes were closed as he tried to fall asleep, his face resting as an arm propped his head up slightly.

I hadn't even noticed how close he was to my face.

I shut my eyes, a smirk on my face for a reason I did not know as I was dragged into the world of dreams.

I woke up somewhere around 2 in the morning, freezing cold and shivering. I had no clue how, but Arvin had sensed my sudden change in breathing, causing him to wake up.

"You alright, Emily?" He mumbled, blinking slowly as my teeth chattered. I felt a warm hand touch my bare arm, sending somewhat of relief as it warmed my skin.

"You're freezing cold." Arvin continued as he lifted the blanket over my shoulder. For a moment, it seemed like he hesitated to make another move, but for some reason I was glad he did.

The next move he made was slow but quick, his hand slipping between my arm and side as he pulled me towards him, the heat from his body practically radiating off of him, warning me up.

I smiled as he wrapped his arms around me, my cheek resting on his chest, which rose and fell. I could hear his heart beating rapidly, probably as fast as mine was.

"Thank you..." I said quietly as he nodded, resting his hand on my back.

I heard his heart slow down as mine did, hearing his breathing pattern change as Arvin fell back asleep. I shut my eyes once again, a smile on my face as I too, fell back into my dream.
