PENITENCE

Karan  looked at Shrishti with confusion, surprise but also guilt. He wasn't expecting this . He knew there was something going on between him and Preeta, actually there has always been something since the first time they met however they never got a chance to confess how they felt for each other. The day he made love to her was the day he knew he was a gonner, ever since that day he always thought about her, about that night, to him its the most special day of his life because he experienced something beautiful with someone he loves  and he was her first so he was proud to be the one but then a lot happened after, his dad's health detoriated because he had been pushed off the stairs and Preeta was the culprit; had he known it was a trap he could've done something. Karan was thinking too much, his thoughts were all over the place, he wasn't even listening to what Shrishti was saying until he felt her touch to get his attention and told him to look at her because what she was saying was very important. She continued to tell him and curse him how because of him her sister almost lost her life. " Your childhood friend here tried killing my sister and not just once. She explained to him the accident in which she was accused of attempted murder yet Sheilyn had tempered with the video. You never looked harder Karan but my sister would be dead by now but thank God I pushed her back to saved her form that truck and that wasn't the only time. The fire incident, you might have gone  back to save her but Mahira pushed her to die and its all because you agreed to marry a psycho . You might ask yourself why she never told you and you must know the answer to the question which is trust. She knew telling you was useless because you wouldn't trust her, would you?" She asked him. Karan felt like he was suffocating, his anger only increased and asked Mahira if it's true.

He got a vase that was near him and threw it and kept asking Mahira if it's true. His mum, Kritika, Rishabh, Sammy were all looking on. what they've heard made them speechless, shocked. How are they ever going to get out of this, how will they ever look at Aroras. Rakhi looked at her children and saw guilt, she saw how this was eating them up, they failed to protect their friend. Her own family destroyed her family and an innocent soul. She heard Karan's cry which was so painful, it pained her seeing her son like that. Karan was always the jolly one in the family seeing him like that broke her. Mahira why were you so hurt less?, how could you do this to someone who never hurt you?, why?.he cried out. Mahira came and knelt next to him and asked for forgiveness but again told them how it was Sheilyn's plan. Mihir who has been watching all this questioned himself why he never saw this side of Mahira before. She is so evil and wanted nothing to do with her. He wondered who this Preeta girl was because everyone was emotional about her.
Karan ordered Sammy to call the police and take Mahira away, she  pleadedwith them  to be forgiven. She reminded Karan that Sammy had promised her, if she told them the truth they would forgive her. "Am not Sammy and a person like you should stay in jail" Karan answered her back. Ramona pleaded with the family but no one was burging. She turned to Mihir to help them but told them, he wants nothing to do with them. "But you just got married to my daughter again, you gotta help her", Ramona said but Mihir told them that the wedding is fake and he did this to take revenge on her and that he feels nothing but contept for her, he even got divorce papers and forced Mahira to sign them if not he's pressing charges against her, adding to those the Luthra's are charging her with. There was nothing for Mahira  to do so  when the police came she was taken to jail as now they also had to find Sheilyn and Prithvi to also answer to their crimes.

After Mahira was taken away, Karan approached Shrishti, knelt down  asked for forgiveness  but Shrishti was very upset. "I don't think I will ever forgive you Karan Luthra, you extirpated my sister's life; you let so many things happen to her, in fact you have no idea how much you've hurt her." Shrishti told him. Sammy wanted to stop her from saying anything but Rishabh told him that there is never a right time for anything it's best he knows if she its what she wants. So he stopped him from approaching  Shrishti and  let her speak. " Your family ruined my family's life, our joy; you accused her of trusting Prithvi and your right, she did wrong to trust him but what reason would she have had not to trust him if he hid that side of him from her and mum?, I knew he wasn't who she thought she was but it's because we see things differently,  she always saw the best in everyone because that's who she is, Karan my sister loved you, she was in love with you; she may have never told you but you as man should have known that considering all the sacrifices she made for you without asking for anything. Am angry at you because you  knew Sheilyn was untrustworthy but chose to believe her words against my sister's, the humiliations she suffered after you had left her on the wedding. Do you know what the neighbours had to say about my sister? You have no idea, and then you and your family made so many accussations against her. You  chased her out of your house like she was a criminal; as a friend you should have listened to her side of the story. It didn't stop there.  You announced  your wedding to humiliate her even more. You broke my sister; I was there to pick  up the pieces you broke and since then I vow never to forgive you.

I feel so  disappointed in you Karan. I always thought you were smart enough to see what was happening  in your house but no, actually everyone in this family  is responsible for what's happening here.
"Shrishti, I wanna fix everything.  I promise tomorrow morning the first thing I want i want to go see Preeta and fix everything I spoilt  but first I want your forgiveness and help me amend my relationship with Preeta. Your right to call me whatever you want, am stupid for not realising what was happening around me, please?" Karan told her.
"Am sorry Karan but there is nothing to fix, the day you agreed to get married without a divorce from my sister is the day you put a nail in the coffin, so your free to live your life the way you want to; no one is gonna come to spoil it for you. That middle-class girl is out of your way" she informed him. But then they started to argue and  he told her, "it's Preeta's decision to make not yours". She's the one I wronged and you have no right to tell me what and not to do, it's between me and her" he continued to say.

"Am simply trying to help you because you will be coming for nothing", Preeta left home and we don't know where she  is and its your fault" she shouted back at him. Karan looked at Shrishti without blicking and shocked as well. Everyone was shocked apart from Sammy and Rishabh. " No your lying, your saying this because you hate me and want me away from your sister but it won't work" he answered her. She then told him to take a closer look at her and see if she's lying or joking. My sister left because she didn't want to get humiliated again, she left to protect my mum against mean people who would've disturbed and caused harm and tell my mom how she didn't raise her children well, she left because it was the right thing to do"she told him softly when tears were falling uncontrollably. She then turned to Kritika asked her to answer truthfully  her question, "if you found out your pregnant but then the father of your child wants nothing to do with you?, at the same time he's agreed to marry someone else and your living in an environment that is full of misconceptions what would you do?. As soon as Shrishti had said pregnant he knew he was done for it but because he's stubborn with ego, he asked Shrishti to repeat what she just said. "I didn't want to tell you this because she never wanted anyone from your family to know but I also knew Sammy will tell you one day however am telling you now and I want you to know just so you live with the guilt that you ruined someone's life and maybe even your own child's life. So yes that's the reason she left. You may again ask why she didn't come to you and I will again tell you that, she knew it was of no use and since her life was in constant danger because of Sheilyn and Mahira she made that decision. I hope your all happy right Aunt Karina? Your the one that shouted a lot, so there, she's not here and won't be returning to this family, much less your nephew's life" She told them, then excused herself and left.
