Ginny and I have been hanging out a lot recently and I'm loving it. I keep forgetting how cool she is. Mainly, it's because the books didn't really cover how cool she is. She told me that she'd been writing Daphne over the summer and they'd become really good friends. When she talked about seeing Daphne again, she sounded so happy. I'm glad she made a friend that she can rely on. I was worried about her last year, but now that I know that Daphne has her back, I don't have to worry. We ran into Harry and he looked like he'd just seen a ghost. But before I could even ask him, Hermione showed up out of the blue and hugged him. I'll have to talk to him later then. Mrs. Weasley herded us out the back door of the Leaky Cauldron. "Okay, everyone stay together and if you must go off to a different store, take someone with you." Mrs. Weasley instructed. "I don't want anyone going missing again." I'm assuming she's talking about how Harry ended up in Knockturn Alley last year. Harry must've been thinking the same thing because he blushed. Ron snickered and patted him on the back.
Harry pouted a bit, but I know he'd deny it if I pointed it out to him. Our first stop was Gringott's as always, and I still hate the damn roller coaster-esque carts. I definitely understand Hagrid's feelings towards these things. Shay and I got our money from Minnie's vault and I decided to go get my Hogwarts uniforms touched up. I'm pretty sure I'm missing a button or two and there are definitely some loose threads. Ginny went with me to Madam Malkin's and after getting my uniforms all fixed up, I decided to check out Eyelop's Owl Emporium to get Salazar some more treats. My last stop was Flourish and Blotts. I think the plan was for everyone to meet up there. I checked my list and made sure I had everything. Satisfied, I looked up in time to see a certain couple sneaking off. Shay and Fred really think they're sneaky. I thought as they took off. I rolled my eyes, but didn't say anything to anyone about it. I know Shay needs her time with her boyfriend seeing as she didn't get to see him all summer.
It looks like Hermione got a cat and Ron didn't approve of it. Apparently, the cat had started chasing after Scabbers. Good, that asshole deserves it. Apparently, the said asshole was losing his fur, so Ron took him to get a rat tonic. He's going to need more than a rat tonic to get his fur back. Knowing the reason why Scabbers was turning for the worst makes me less sympathetic towards the rat. He knows Sirius is on the loose and is after him. I bet the moment we get to Hogwarts, he's going to go back to his old tricks of faking his death and whatnot. I can't wait to assist Crookshanks in catching the rat for Sirius. I'll take pleasure in doing so because that rat is the whole reason why one kid has to go through so much shit, when he really shouldn't have to. When we got back to the Leaky Cauldron, Ron and Hermione whisked Harry off up the stairs before I could even talk to him. Those butts. I didn't get the chance to actually talk to Harry until much, much later. It was just after dinner and I pulled Harry off to the side. "What's up? You looked really pale earlier." I said frowning.
"I just... I saw a black dog before I got here." Harry said frowning. He ended up telling me about his 'aunt' Marge and how he left the house in a rage. When he'd finally calmed down, he'd realized he was being watched and saw a giant black dog looking at him. Sirius is such a dummy. I thought wanting to face palm. He freaking scared Harry shitless! I mean, I can't blame him for wanting to see his godson, but still. You can't just appear out of no where and not expect to scare him! I'll have to write him. I thought wanting so badly to roll my eyes.
"I'm sure it's nothing for you to worry about, Harry." I told him, finally. "It was probably just some stray dog, or someone else's dog who got loose."
"Yeah, you're probably right." Harry said thoughtfully. I felt terrible for lying to him, but I don't think Harry would believe me if I told him the actual truth at this point in time. I decided to write Sirius the moment Shay and I were alone.
"What are you writing Snuffles about?" Shay asked me.
"Harry." I said sighing. "He visited Harry and scared Harry shitless."
