The Rat has been let out of the Bag

It was the night of the showdown between Professor Lupin, Sirius, and Pettigrew. I'm worried that Pettigrew is going to get away with it again, but that's something that can't happen. I found Shay and she seemed like she was having a shit day. "You okay?" I asked her.

"No. Fred is being an ass." She said scowling. "Ron just saved me."

"I'm proud of Ron." I said smiling. "Do you need me to talk to Fred? Obviously, anything George said went through one ear and out the other."

"No." She said shaking her head. "I'll deal with it, but not today. I'm tired."

"Okay, you go ahead and take care of yourself." I told her. "I'll take care of Sirius and Pettigrew."

"Just be careful, okay?" She told me. "And I feel kind of bad leaving it up to you."

"Don't worry about it." I said, sympathetically. "I'll be safe and I'll make sure Sirius' name is cleared."

"Okay, love you." She said softly.

"Love you, too." I told her, before she walked off. I looked at the the time and cursed. I'm going to miss everything if I don't hurry! I took off towards the entrance of the school and the sun was starting to set. I changed into my animagus form and took off towards the Forbidden Forest. I sniffed around until I found Sirius' scent and followed it. I found Sirius and Buckbeak inside a small nook area where Buckbeak was resting. Sirius tossed him a dead ferret or two. "Sirius," I said changing back to my human form. I was careful to stay far away from Buckbeak so I wouldn't startle him.

"Pyper, what are you doing here?" Sirius asked me alarmed.

"I'm here to help you clear your name." I said rolling my eyes. "I see you got Buckbeak away successfully."

"Yes, thanks to Lucius Malfoy's son." Sirius said sounding surprised.

"Yeah, Draco has turned out to be a great friend." I said smiling. "He wasn't like this in my second year."

"He's come a long way it seems." Sirius said shaking his head. "It's too bad his father couldn't take a leaf out his book."

"Have you found Pettigrew yet?" I asked him. 

"Yes, I saw him heading towards the Whomping Willow." Sirius said nodding. "Did you tell anyone you were coming?"

"No." I said grimacing. "Should I have?"

"It's fine." Sirius said thoughtfully. "I'm going to leave Buckbeak here for the moment and go after Pettigrew."

"Okay, I'll follow you." I told him. We transformed into our animagus forms and headed towards Hagrid's hut. I heard Ron, Harry, and Hermione but I did not see them. Oh no... "They're underneath the invisibility cloak." I groaned.

"Ron has the rat." Sirius muttered.

"Damn it, Ronald...." I sighed. "Okay, we approach them cautiously. If Pettigrew sees us, he'll do anything to get away. We'll have to be quick, because Ron will chase after the rat."

"Got it." Sirius said as we slowly approached the Golden Trio. I'm assuming they were out here for Buckbeak, but they should've gone back to the castle by now. I thought inwardly scowling.

"Ow, Scabbers bit me!" Came Ron's bewildered voice. Pettigrew shot out from underneath the cloak and Sirius and I hurried after him. We bumped Ron, Hermione, and Harry away so that they wouldn't get hurt. Crookshanks came from the side and grabbed Pettigrew by neck. We ran straight for the Whomping Willow and Professor Lupin was waiting for us inside the Shrieking Shack. Crookshanks held onto the rat as Sirius and I transformed back into our human forms.
