Faded Memories

Shay was antsy throughout the whole two weeks we spent with Minnie. Minnie was usually busy with preparing class plans for next year, but she took time out of her day to spend it with Shay and I. She read us stories from some of her favorite books and I don't know about Shay, but I enjoyed them. I have been sending letters back and forth with Theo and Pansy. I miss them and I miss hanging out with them every day. I really miss Theo though. He seemed a bit bummed about having to go home. I wonder if it has to do with why he was acting so distant that one day. I hope that whatever it is, I'll be able to help him through it. He's such a nice person, he deserves to be happy. Pansy is already angry with her mom. She told me a lot about how her mom expects her to be the perfect daughter and expects her to get along with these two girls who she doesn't even like.

Apparently, her mom treats them as her own daughters and ignores Pansy when the girls are over. That's really sad and it's hard to find out that so many of my friends have such a rough relationship with their parents. Shay and I are different though. We don't even know who our parents are, or how we even ended up in the middle of the street of London. It's just so weird and it's upsetting that we can't remember anything prior to being there. It bothers me that I can't remember anything from the last eleven years. Yeah, I'm having fun being with everyone and I wouldn't trade that for the world. But it would be nice to know what I don't remember. That's the one thing that would make this better; remembering everything before Shay and I appeared in London. Anyway, Shay's been saying how she's been missing Fred and how frustrated she is that he doesn't send back his responses in a timely manner. "Why can't they just get a phone?" She had grumbled one time.

"If they had one, Mrs. Weasley wouldn't  be able to keep Mr. Weasley away from it." I said shaking my head. "You know it's true." Shay giggled.

"Yeah, but they should have a phone. Or at least they'll get a phone. Remember?" She said grinning. "Ron calls Harry during the summer before fourth year begins about the Quidditch World Cup."

"Yeah, I wonder how that's going to go this time." I said snickering. I had been getting letters from Harry and Draco, too. Harry's letters mainly consisted of him dreading his Aunt Marge's arrival and there was talk about Draco, of course. And Draco's letters mainly consisted of him complaining about his father. Of course, I didn't find it annoying because Draco had a right to be complaining about his asshole of a father. Blaise and I have been sending a letter or two every once in a while to each other just going over little things. I haven't heard much from Susan or Hannah, but I think Shay has been writing them. I've also figured out what I was going to write to Sirius. I actually wrote it one day while Minnie was busy and Shay was entertaining herself by playing with Merida. I wrote:

Dear Sirius (or should I call you Mr. Black?),

My name is Pyper Harper. My sister and I believe you're innocent and was wrongfully accused. Peter Pettigrew is alive and we know where he is right now. The only reason we haven't done anything about him is because we want to make sure we can catch him, so we can clear your name. We know that Harry Potter is your godson and that you're willing to do anything to protect him. We know Pettigrew is a rat and he's closer to Harry than any of us knew. We want to help you and Harry. I would explain more clearly, but you can understand why I'm not.

Please reply if possible,

Pyper Harper

I sent the letter as soon as possible using Salazar. He'd been gone for the rest of the time Shay and I had with Minnie. Salazar showed up the day Shay and I were supposed to leave. So, I didn't get the chance to read his response yet. I'll have to read it when I have the time. When we arrived at Alex's house, her parents didn't seem to be very welcoming towards us. Izzy told us to stay out of the way and keep the noise down. I was a little confused at first when she told me that I was rooming with her and Shay was rooming with Alex until she mentioned the bunk beds. It was understandable of not wanting to sleep by yourself when you've spent your whole life taking care of your sister. Izzy was a pretty cool person and her room reflected that of a normal teenage girl, but she was clearly very mature for her age. It's to be expected from what Alex has told me about her parents. "Alex has told me a lot about you and your sister." Izzy said while showing me her room.
