As it turns out, holding my breath didn't take me somewhere else. It didn't make it hurt any less, and it definitely didn't make it go by any quicker. My sobs were loud enough to make him worry about the neighbors, and if I close my eyes I can still feel the way his hand felt as it covered my mouth.
"You're bleeding," Tyler says, pulling his pants up on his waist as he turns to see me laying on my side. I've got the blankets up under my chin as I shake viciously. The unforgiving hymen that he must have broke sometime during his hard thrusts warms my thighs. "You're bleeding so much. God, now I am going to have to toss these sheets."
"I want to go home," I whisper, letting the warm tears fall down my face. "I want to go home."
"I'll get you home," he walks to where I face, holding his hand out to help me up. "See, that wasn't so bad-"
"Shut up!" I yell, slapping his hand away from where it extends in front of me. "Don't touch me you..." I begin, but as I yell I feel myself choke up. "You monster!"
"Ha," he shakes his head. "So I guess this means you and I are over?"
I glare at him as I pull myself off of his bed, sliding on my pants which will have to be thrown away when I get home and the top he had busted the buttons off of when it began. My chest is exposed if I don't hold it closed with my fingertips, and as I grab my backpack off of the floor and slip my shoes on I can't help but wonder why I fell for him in the first place.
"Fine, we are over. But that doesn't mean that this is done," he smirks, sending chills down my spine. "But if you tell anyone about this, your shit is getting leaked."
"I won't say anything," I frown, giving into this blackmail.
"Good," he smirks, and as I bolt out of his bedroom I hear him yell before I get any farther. "I'll see you this time tomorrow."
"Grace!" I hear his younger sister say as she runs to me. She holds a trophy in her hand, her auburn hair pulled back into a pony tail as her untied cleats stomp against the pavement in front of their garage. "Look what I won!"
I look up and see an army of his siblings run towards me, and I am overwhelmed. But it's not their fault that their older brother is a creep. So instead of beginning my long walk home, I fake a smile. It's not huge, but it's enough to make her smile bigger than it was before.
"Look at you!" I say, smiling weakly as I look down at her. "Good job, darling."
"I didn't know you were coming over today?" Tyler's Father says as he tosses a soccer ball in the air, the other siblings both trying to steal it out of his hands. "Tyler didn't say anything about that."
"It was last minute," I say, keeping my back from them. If they look too closely, they'll see the blood that is probably soaking through my pants. "But I should be getting home now, you know my Mom."
"Right," he nods, smiling widely with his bearded grin. I've always loved his family, and as I watch how perfect they seem I can't help but wonder if they'll ever learn about what their son did to me just a few minutes ago. "Do you need a ride?"
"No, I'd rather walk," I say, gulping back the tears when I realize that they might never find out. "But thanks anyway."
"Do hurry," he says, watching me as I cling onto my shirt. "The creeps come out after dark."
"I will," I nod, and as I manage to escape from their suffocating perfection I am on the sidewalk towards my house.
It's chilly for May, and usually around this time I'd be trying to get rid of my winter coat and pants. But my Mother told me to keep them around for a while longer, and when I feel my cheeks grow cold from the evening air I am thankful she did so.
