LAUNCE'S POV

"Son, please attend the party for us." My mom begged. We are talking on the phone. "Your dad and I cannot make it tomorrow. We have an emergency meeting and we cannot catch our flight later."

I let out a deep, frustrating sigh. "Mom, why would I attend this party? I'm busy." Pagdadahilan ko. It's true though.

"Please do it for me and your father, please. The debutant's parents are our friends." My mom begged again. If I'm not mistaken, my mom was the one who made and designed this girl's debut gown.

My mom knows I can't say no to her. I once again let out a deep sigh, "Okay, mom," I said in defeat and agreed.

"Thank you, son. I love you. I'll hang up now." Mom said and ended the call. They are in Milan, Italy.

I put down the phone and sighed. I'm so stressed with work. There was a problem with some of the packages from Italy and France. Some parcels, containing our expensive watches and other bags, went missing. If I lose all those, I'll lose a huge amount of money, too.

I stared at the invitation on my table. I grabbed it and checked it out.

Attire: Strictly formal attire

Ughh! Is debut still a thing nowadays? Uso pa ba ito? Uso pa ba ang debut? Napakaraming kaartehan ng mga batang babae!

I received a call from one of my best friends, Nikko. I answered the call. Nagulat naman ako ng hindi lang si Nikko ang nagsalita. Kungdi lahat ng mga matatalik kong kaibigan. I didn't know that this was a group call.

"Will you guys be attending the stupid debut party tomorrow?" Nikko said.

"Fuck! I forgot about that debut!" Sandros said and groaned.

"Yeah. I had no choice. My parents cannot make it tomorrow, that's why I'll be the one to attend." I replied. My phone's on a loud speaker.

"Yeah, I will, man. Ayos lang since I need a break from work." Santi replied.

"Yeah, like I have a choice. Sino ba kasi yung batang yon?" Sandros asked.

"Anak daw ng senador. Tama ba, Fabian?" Nikko said.

"Yeah. She's the only child of Senator Ismael and Karyl Primavera." Fabian answered. "She's so spoiled, just so you guys know." He added.

"Like I give a fuck," I sarcastically replied.

It's true! Who is the kid anyway? For sure this debut is only for a show off! They will just show off their luxurious life and famous guests.

I heard some laughs from my friends.

"Gago ka talaga kahit kailan, Launce!" Nikko said while chuckling a bit.

We stopped talking about the stupid debut and talked about some other things like our business. We ended the call and I answered more calls from Italy and France.

I am now the CEO of Lux Laurent. Lux Laurent is a luxurious brand. We offer men's and women's clothing, bags, shoes, belts, eye wear, perfumes, makeup, skincare line, watches and jewelry and so much more. Our company has been in the industry for more than 60 years. It has been passed by my great grandparents. Our company has been in the industry for generations already. This company is very special to us. It has been passed down by our ancestors who are related to YSL, the other Saint Laurents.
