Chapter 7 - There Will Be Blood

MacKenzie's POV

Cisco, Barry, and I end up on the floor of the lounge in STAR Labs, groaning. Nash is fine, walking around

"Whoo!" Nash exclaims. "Well, that was exciting, wasn't it, fellas?"

"The Lounge?" Cisco asks as we all sit up. "How did we--"

"Worry less about how we got to the Lounge, and more about building my crypto-circuit." Nash says

"That's not happening anymore." Barry says

"Let me correct you, Barry Allen." Nash says. "Yes, it is. We had a deal, right? I would lead you to something priceless, which I did, not my fault the serum was gone. So now, you two are gonna build me a device."

Cisco and I are working on Nash's circuit in the workroom. The two of us have tools in our hands as we work on the device

"Shouldn't you be doing homework right now?" Cisco asks, not taking his eyes off the circuit in front of us

"Already finished." I answer, steadying my hand to tweak the wiring

"Even your Spanish worksheet?" Cisco asks me

"I'll do that one later." I tell him. "Maybe I'll magically understand it in a few hours." To which Cisco lets out a small laugh

"You know, Nash isn't going anywhere until he gets this crypto-circuit." Barry says as he walks into the room. "How's it coming?"

"Almost finished." I answer

"All right." Barry says, looking around. "I don't know if you should." He speaks up

Cisco and I stop working to look at him

"Okay, what do you mean?" Cisco asks

"I mean, doesn't something feel off about all this?" Barry asks

"Yeah, I know." Cisco sasy. "The guys shows up needing our tech, makes a bargain to help us, and conveniently, the thing we need isn't there."

"Right." Barry says. "So, I mean you think he's lying to us?"

"It wouldn't be the first time a Wells had a secret agenda." Cisco says

Barry sighs. "Yeah." He says, walking around the room. "Yo, what's in here?" He asks, looking at a cabinet that was kept cold. I look over and turn my head in confusion

"That's storage for Frost's stuff." Cisco says, looking at the cabinet. "You know how she gets."

Barry pauses for a moment. "You haven't looked me in the eye since I came in here." Barry tells Cisco. Barry moves his hand to open the cabinet

"Wait." Cisco says

Barry opens the cabinet anyways. "What the hell am I looking at?" He asks, revealing the serum. Cisco is quiet. "Cisco."

"You know exactly what this is." Cisco says, closing the cabinet. "I don't care what powers you have. You want it... you're gonna have to go through me."

"What are you talking about?" Barry asks. "What the hell are you doing?"

"I'm saving your life." Cisco says and I put my tools down, watching the scene in front of me. "Cause someone has to do it."

"Saving Ramsey... saving Ramsey's my call." Barry says

"And it's a bad call." Cisco says

"But it's the one I made." Barry says. "Sometimes, as a leader, you have to make tough calls in order to serve the greater good."
