Chapter 8 - Kiss Kiss Breach Breach

MacKenzie's POV 

"Barry, we don't have to do this." Iris says, in a beach outfit as her, Barry, and I walk down the hallways

"It's Tahiti, not Iron Heights." Barry tells her with a laugh 

"I know, but we've got too much going on right now to be taking a vacation." Iris says

"Okay, look. It's two days." Barry tells her, pulling her into a hug. "All right? Ramsey's been off the grid for two weeks. And Crisis is coming. No matter what. Let me take you someplace special, where we can have fruity umbrella drinks and get sand between our toes."

"I do like us." Iris says. "And we're even better with Mai Tais." She says with a smile. She looks to her side at me, the only one out of us not wearing a beach outfit. She puts her hand under my chin, rubbing her thumb against my cheek. "I don't like that we're leaving you behind."

"Are you sure you don't want to come with us?" Barry asks me

I shake my head. "I'm sure. I have a lot of school work to do." I say, partially lying

"Okay." Iris whispers, kissing my head before pulling away. "Your overnight bag is packed right? You know the plan?"

"Yup." I tell her. "After my tutoring session at school, I go home to grab my overnight bag."

"And..." Iris starts

"And bolt the doors shut." I tell her. "Wait there for Joe to pick me up after work. Any problems, I call Caitlin, Cecile, Cisco, or Ralph."

"And where are the places you're allowed to be while we're away?" Iris asks me

"At home with the doors locked or here at STAR Labs with someone else." I say. "But if I'm coming here, I have to have a ride here and back home."

"Good girl." Iris says with a smile, pulling me in for a hug

"She's a metahuman." Barry reminds Iris, joining in on the hug with a laugh. "There's nothing she can't handle."

"She's our baby." Iris says. "I just wanna make sure she stays safe."

"You gotta take a look. It's in a book." Ralph's voice comes from the cortex. The three of us walk in and Ralph looks at Barry and Iris. "Hey, I thought you guys fathwoomed out of here."

"We just wanted to make sure you guys were okay holding down the fort while we were gone." Barry says

"We're good." Cisco says with a twizzler in his mouth. "Rest easy, lovebirds. Team Leader is my new middle name."

"What was it before?" Ralph asks

"Baracus." Cisco answers

"As in Barracas, Argentina?" Iris asks

"No, as in Mr. T. My mom was a big A-Team fan." Cisco says

"Wish mine was." Ralph says. "Could've been Hannibal Dibny."

"Hannibal?" Cisco scoffs. "Please. You're Murdock on your best day. You guys have fun." He tells Barry and Iris. "I'm gonna hold it down with a little help from my friend, the Barry."

"The Barry? I'm standing right here." Barry says

"Not you, Barry." Cisco says, tapping on the computer to pull up an AI. "B.A.R.I. Barry Allen Replicated Intelligence."

"Aww." Iris says

"It's my decision-making algorithm." Cisco says

"So if there's a problem, this is gonna tell us what to do?" Ralph asks
