"Hey kid. You ok?" Asked the hooded figure who could now be identified biologically as a man due to the deepness of their voice.
"Y-yeah" he managed to stutter out
"Good. Call the police."
The man turned away and was about to leave when the boy called out to him.
"H-hey! Wait!"
The man paused.
"Yes?"
"I-I noticed that you didn't use a physical quirk to fight. C-can..."
He hesitated. This was the last time he would ask. The man would probably say no but he still needed to ask just one more time, his broken soul grasping around desperately for something to save him from drowning in despair.
"Can a quirkless person be come a hero?"
The man froze in shock before chuckling.
Izuku felt himself slipping under the surface.
He walked over and knelt before the boy, placing a hand on his head.
"I don't know if I'm the best person to ask kid. I'm not a hero, legally speaking that is, but yeah. I think that a quirkless person can become a hero. After all, I'm no hypocrite."
He was pulled out of the frigid waters as a fiery inferno roared to life behind his eyes. They became as bright as they were the day he decided he wanted to be a hero.
Something that he thought to be the impossible, was suddenly possible.
"Y-You mean you're quirkless too?"
"Yeah kid. I'm a quirkless vigilante. I'm still a hero but not officially. I don't get paid by the government for it but that's not what being a hero is about right?"
He placed a hand on the boy's shoulder.
"This world won't willing give us a chance kid. You have to fight to make your own and take it. Now I don't know anything about going the legal way but-"
The boys eyes widened as he saw a figure with a gun come behind the man.
"LOOK OUT!" He shouted, interrupting the man.

The vigilante was just chilling on a rooftop, eating a sandwich when he heard someone in an alleyway 2 buildings from him.
He leapt across the rooftops, sandwich forgotten.
He felt rage flooding his system at the fact that this man would stoop so low as to murder someone, no a child just because they made the dude mad.
He leapt down into the alley way, smirking as his boots made contact with the assailant's face. Within seconds the man had been subdued.
After checking on the kid he prepared to scale the walls of the alley before he called out to him.
"H-hey! Wait!"
The vigilante paused.
"Yes?"
"I-I noticed that you didn't use a physical quirk to fight. C-can..."
The kid hesitated, seeming to ponder over something briefly before snapping out of it and asking the question.
"Can a quirkless person be come a hero?"
He froze. 'A quirkless person..?' He analyzed the kid, taking into account that he was trembling slightly and that his eyes seemed to be begging him for something. Hope.
He chuckled and walked over to the boy, kneeling before him, placing a hand on his head.
'Oh my god his hair is so soft! No! Stay focused!'
"I don't know if I'm the best person to ask kid. I'm not a hero, legally speaking that is, but yeah. I think that a quirkless person can become a hero. After all, I'm no hypocrite."
Something bright shined beneath the surface of a pair eyes that were once an empty void.
"Y-You mean you're quirkless too?"
"Yeah kid. I'm a quirkless vigilante. I'm still hero but not officially. I don't get paid by the government for it but that's not what being a hero is about right?"
He placed a hand on the boy's shoulder.
"This world won't willing give us a chance kid. You have to fight to make your own and take it. Now I don't know anything about going the legal way but-"
The boys eyes widened.
"LOOK OUT!" He shouted, interrupting the vigilante.
