They left the house for the lab the next morning.

To be honest the look on the boy'a face kind of scared the older male. It wasn't the expression that he was making that scared him.

No, it was the absence of one that made him feel uneasy. He was just so... blank. It was unnerving to see the usually expressive boy so... well, unexpressive.

They walked into the lab and were greeted by the lady at the front desk. Her expression saddened as she looked towards the boy.

Was that pity? If it was, they would have to do something about her.

They went down many twisting and turning hallways. However, they navigated through it all easily, like mussel memory.

They finally arrived at his room.

Two scientists grabbed the boy by his arms, strapped him to a chair, and hooked him up to an assortment of machinery.

The older male nodded to them as they left the room.

He turned towards a tray sitting on a nearby counter top. He held up a syringe and approached the boy.

Normally the boy would be struggling but right now he was just unresponsive to everything.

Just as he was about to put the needle in his arm his phone rang. He paused and pulled away to answer his phone. He spoke briefly while stealing glances at Izuku.

Finally he hung up and turned towards him.

Oh no.

Oh no no no no no no.

He did not like that look in the man's eyes.

He stalked towards him and kneeled to be eye level with the boy

"Izuku were you involved in a villain attack yesterday?"

The boy didn't respond

The man sighed and turned a dial. Coursing white hot pain flooded through his body. He let out a scream. The man turned the dial down again.

The boy rapidly nodded and the man shook his head.

"Izuku. I'm your doctor. If stuff like this happens to you then I need to know. It could interfere with our work here and your progress, ok?"

The man brushed some of the boy's hair out of his eyes.

"Now we both know that it's impossible for you to have saved your friend without a quirk correct?"

The boy didn't respond. The man reached for the dial again before the boy shouted "Yes sir!"

"That's my boy" the man said, putting a hand on the boy's face.

He grinned sadistically. "Now let's do some quirk analysis tests. "

~~~~~
"What?!" He said knocking the stacks of paper to the floor
The intern flinched. "I-I'm sorry sir! All of the tests came back negative!"
The man panted but then gave a forced smile.
"No it's alright. It's not your fault. Besides, on the bright side that means that we get to keep one of our biggest patrons."
He turned towards the boy in the chair.
"It's been a while since we conducted any experiments for them anyways."
~~~~~

Screams rang throughout the facility.

"Alright son, it's time to go home." Said the boy's father as he unstrapped him from the chair.

"No..." mumbled the boy.

"No?"

"You forgot... about Eri-chan."

"Oh that's right! Your little friend! You want to go say hi to her?"

The boy nodded.

"Alright. Let's go say hi shall we?"

The boy attempted to stand up but he collapsed from his lack of strength due to blood loss. The boy's father caught him.

"My my, today must have taken a lot out of you."

He picked him up and carried him down the hall. They stopped in front of a glass door and entered the room to find a man with a bird mask on and a little girl.

"Hello Overhaul-sama."

The masked man just nodded to him. The little girl peaked out from behind him. The boy's father set him down as the girl looked at the masked man for permission. He nodded.

She hesitantly walked over to the boy

"Zu?"

"Hi Eri-chan." he whispered, softly as he crouched down to be eye level with her.

She gave him a hug.

"Story?"

Eri would often ask Izuku to tell her stories about the outside world. Unlike him she wasn't allowed to live a normal life. However it was more describing things than it was actually telling stories.

"I helped a friend yesterday."

She gasped.

"Really?"

He nodded.

"There was a villain attack. He grabbed my friend. I threw my backpack at him."

She giggled.

"It hit the bad guy in the eye."

"Ouchie." She said, making a face.

"Then the pro heroes came in and saved him."

"Wow!"

Overhaul just rolled his eyes.

"That's enough Eri."

The girl immediately scrambled back to the man's side.

"Bye bye Zu." She whimpered as the boy was carried out of the lab by his father.
