He climbed up into the truck bed and pried open a crate.

He was greeted with a surplus of bandages. He opened another to find it full of antibiotics and disinfectants. He had hit the jackpot!

He grabbed the duffel bag he used to carry the flour in and began raiding the crates for supplies. Once he finished packing he moved to step out of the truck bed and only hear an odd noise.

He paused and listened carefully and heard a faint squeak noise.

Digging through the crates, he found a small container. He unlocked it and what he saw shocked him. Inside there was a small mouse with the number 352 branded into its side.

It was shivering up a storm and appeared very weak. He lifted the small mammal and cradled it to his chest.

This was definitely unexpected but was it really though? If the lab was doing illegal human experimentation then it really shouldn't surprise him that they also participated in animal cruelty.

The boy vigilante chewed on his lip. What was he supposed to do? He only knew how to treat his own wounds. Sure vets go through similar training as regular doctors, but this was beyond him.  He need help.

He pulled out his phone and scrolled through his pictures. Maybe it was time to finally have that tea with Nezu?

He shuddered at the thought before glancing down at the small animal. He didn't really have a choice.

☁︎☀︎☁︎

Nezu was not expecting a visitor at 3 am. However, most of the great things in life were unexpected after all.

He opened his door to find the boy vigilante there, smelling like hospitals and forest.

It brought up memories of the lab Nezu was kept in but he immediately brushed the memories aside.

"Good morning Dekiru. How may I help you?"

"I didn't know where else to go. I was... out  for a walk and found this little guy."

He opened his hands to reveal a small shivering rodent.

"I figured you would know what to do."

"I see." The principal said, taking the shaking rodent. "Thank you very much for this. I will give this young fellow the help he needs. I already have a kettle on the stove heating up. Would you mind getting out the tea while I tend to him? The tea is in the cabinet on the far left."

"Sure."

He grabbed a heated blanket and shaped it to form a nest. After setting it to a comfortable temperature, he walked back to the kitchen and sat down across from the boy vigilante.

"Is there a particular type of tea you favor? I have to say I'm in a jasmine mood right now."

The younger male just shrugged at the mammal.

"I'm surprised that you seem relaxed enough around me to sit down."

The boy vigilante just huffed "I figured that if something were to happen to lead to my capture it would have already occurred."

"Very true," remarked Nezu.

"Then again, you could have drugged the water for the tea before I arrived and planned for me to handle the tea to prevent any suspicions," he added.

"That could also be true, however, I would not waste tea over something like that."

The two of them sat in comfortable silence before the boy vigilante blurted out a question.

"How does your quirk work?"

"Pardon?"

"humor me," he said. "I like to analyze quirks as a hobby."

Nezu hummed. "It's quite alright. I respect the need to pursue knowledge to a certain extent. Ask away."

"Does your quirk affect how fast you absorb information? How many variables are you able to take into account just off the top of your head? Do you constantly analyze everything around you? Do..."

The principal chuckled and proceeded to answer all of the excited human's questions.

The boy vigilante's tea grew cold by the time they had finished their conversation.

He had hoped to catch a glimpse of the face of this enthusiastic person before him however, he knew the odds were slim.

He didn't need to see his face to know that he was on the younger side with how animated he became during their discussion.

The conversation was quite amusing to the principal and made him grin behind his teacup.

Oh, he was definitely fond of this human.
