I follow Violet's rapid footsteps over to Evelyn. When I finally get over there Evelyn already has her face buried in Violet's shoulder. Together we combine our efforts and calm her down eventually. Before heading in we ask what has happened.

She replies with a shaky "My parents are here. I told them."

I run in only to see Evelyn's dad, usually calm and collected, yelling viciously at Niall with a face so purple someone could mistake it for an eggplant. Evelyn's mother attempts futilely to drag Evelyn's father away but every time he shrugs her off returning to his rant.

Feeling like my head is about to explode from all the horrendous yelling I scream "Sit down now!" at Evelyn's father. Turning to me with a surprised but frightened look he sits down on the sofa slowly not sure what to do with this new Callie who had never ever raised her voice at an adult, let alone my friend's father until now.

Tired I collapse onto the couch and start reasoning with Evelyn's dad.

"This is my house and I will not have you screaming at anyone, especially not your daughter's fiance," I say in an even tone.

He opens his mouth to retort but I continue unfazed by his nervous expression.

"That's right. It's not about you this time. In fact no one gives a damn right now about you. Your daughter's happy with Niall and they're getting married. All you can do now is get over your unreasonable selfishness and accept the fact that you don't own your daughter."

Wow, even I'm impressed with myself today. Evelyn's father opens and closes his mouth in shock before managing to put a barely-there "Okay" together.

Louis, senses my anxiety, stands behind me rubbing my shoulders.

"Just a few days ago I told my parents about Louis and I. They were fine with it. Your daughter wants you in her life and wants you to approve of her choices. It hurts her more than you realize when she doesn't meet your expectations," I tell him raising my tone a bit.

Niall sneaks over sitting next to her father. When he taps him on the shoulder Evelyn's dad abruptly turns to face him.

A tad more shy Niall manages to say "I love your daughter and we would like your blessing."

Evelyn's father raises his hand making Niall flinch in the anticipation of a slap for asking such a horrid question. Instead her dad pats Niall on the back hard and says in a booming voice, "Welcome to the family, son." Niall's mouth breaks into a grin and Evelyn runs over hugging her dad, ecstatic. While her parents give them their blessings I turn around in Louis' arms kissing him deeply. Finally breaking away I whisper in his ear "All's well that ends well" burying my head in his chest. It's only then that I remember Violet. Looking around the room she's nowhere to be found but I have a pretty good idea where she is. Slowly tiptoeing my way to the first-floor bathroom, sure enough I hear retching sounds coming from behind the door. Knocking with no reply I slowly turn the door handle to find it unlocked. I make my way over to her kneeling down along with her and holding her hair back. When she finally stops I lead her to the sink to wash her face. When she looks into the mirror I see lines of tears streaking her face.

"What happened?" I ask gently.

"He...he left a voice mail. He said he misses me and wants to raise our baby together."

"Oh, hell no. Tell me you're joking. That bastard sleeps with another woman and then has the nerve to say 'he wants to raise our baby together.' It's your call but I say, don't come back."

"I know, that's not the problem. I have no feelings for him. It's just that I can't believe I'm pregnant. Will you guys help me raise the child?"

"Girl, of course. That's what friends are here for. Maybe if I have a child they'll be best friends," I reassure her.

She unexpectedly throws her arms around me sobbing and hugging me tighter until I might explode. Prying her hands off me I say "Now wash up and meet us in the living room for some games."

Looking over my shoulder at her as I leave the bathroom I feel I've done at least one thing right this time.
