Louis' POV
As soon as Niall and Evelyn called me after Callie had stomped out of my house, I knew something was wrong. Half of me listening to Niall on the other end and the other half of me struggling to tie my shoelaces I eventually make it to Callie's house. The door swung wide open I run in not bothering to kick off my sneakers. I screech to a stop as the scene before me registers. Callie's lying on the couch, eyes closed and chest rising and falling faintly. Niall and Evelyn turn to face towards me as they hear me bound in. They start talking at the same time in worried tones and I quickly hear the anger in their tones.
"One person at a time," I interrupt their squabbling.
Niall opens his mouth to tell me something but Evelyn starts before him. "What the fuck did you do to her? She ran in here with tears streaming down her face headed for the couch. She jumps onto the couch and goes unconcious within seconds."
Crap, why did I lie to her in the first place? Maybe she wouldn't have been lying here if I had been truthful. We would have probably made up by now and everything would be great. These thoughts swarm in my mind. Not being able to take it anymore, I feel lightheaded and I probably turn very pale because Niall sits me down gently in a chair near Callie and puts a hand around my shoulder.
"Here, take these, mate," he whispers softly, holding out some pills and a glass of water that Evelyn brought him. Shrugging him off I lean in toward Callie and gently stroke her hair. Her face gains some color and she stirs.
"Mate, can you leave us alone for a few?" I ask him not wanting to startle the awakening Callie. Niall takes Evelyn's hand in his and they both head upstairs closing the doors behind them.
Kissing Callie softly on the forehead she wakes up completely, tears leaving streaks on her dry face. She sits up focusing on me for the first time. She dives into my chest and squeezes me until I have almost no air left in me. Loosening her grip she sets her head on my lap looking up at me.
"I have a lot of explaining to do," I start off.
"That's one thing you are right about," she says teasingly. I never thought I would say this but for once, her teases feel more than welcome.
I take in a deep breath and launch shakily into my story.
"Two years ago, I took Hillary, who was my girlfriend at the time, on tour with me to Vegas. After the concert the lads and I took our girlfriends to a local bar where I got very drunk. Hillary decided this was her perfect chance to get what she had been striving for, marriage. Everyone else had left and she took me down to a chapel to elope. When I woke up the next morning I had a terrible hangover and a marriage ring. She confessed and we broke up never having time to divorce. I know it might sound far-fetched but I swear it's true. Say the word and I can disappear from your life. Just know that I love you." Being done with my explanation I let go of the breath I didn't even realize I was holding.
"Uh...wow? I believe you and I don't want you to disappear. Can we just go back to the way things were, on two conditions?" she asks me planting a warm kiss on my lips.
"I'm ready for anything. Hit me with 'em."
"First one is that you file for a divorce with Hillary as soon as possible. Second one is we never lie to each other again."
"It's a done deal."
Sealing it with a kiss, our old life is back.
