Annie's Memories

2 years later...

"SO far these are our target for this year. Hopefully, we will be able to finalize all of the project proposals before the month ends," pagkatapos ng presentation ni Gret ay nagsipalakpakan silang lama.

Annie stood up in satisfaction to wrap up the meeting. "I guess that's all we should worry for now, always take it easy..." wika nito.

"Bar tonight?" lumapit naman si Gret sa kanya na para bang nang-a-akit.

Na-speechless lang si Annie habang inaayos ang kanyang mga gamit. Gret has always been up to Bars and drinking but Annie was trying to dwindle her hobby of drinking.

"Sa susunod, promise..." napasimangot naman si Gret na parang batang nagtatampo sa kanya habang nagmartsa papunta sa kanyang upuan para ayusin ang kanyang mga gamit.

Annie is now Asphalt's Chief Executive Officer voted by the board of directors. Ilang buwan palang ang nakaraan pero unti-unti na siyang nakakapag-adjust sa kanyang posisyon.

Pagkalas niya ng conference room ay binate siya ng mga empleyadong nakasalubong niya. Majority of them approved of her because she's been working at the company for years and she's really one of those competitive employees with excellent credentials.

Pagpasok niya sa kanyng office ay nadatnan niya si Gina na inaayos na ang mag papeles na kailangan niyang i-approve sa kanyang lamesa.

"Salamat, Gina...you may take your break," she sounded relieved when she reached her desk.

"Sige po ma'am. Pinalitan ko nga po pala ang mag bulaklak niyo sa base. Nalalanta na po kasi," sabi naman nito. Napatingin si Annie sa vase malapit sa bintana, she forgot to buy new ones and Gina must have brought those new flowers at mukhang alam din niya ang binibili nito.

Matapos makaalis ni Gina ay umupo si Annie sa kanyang swivel chair at umikot para humrap sa bintana. Sinandan niya ang ulo sa backrest at napapikit.

"Is this the view you usually look at?" her voice resounded with a bit pain.

When he was promoted, he took over Freed's former office. She didn't change anything about the room rather she wanted to retain it just like when Freed left.

It has been two years ever since Freed left the company. Gano'n na rin katagal mula nang hindi niya nakita ito. He is still around somewhere. She knows that because she always watched out for news about Larcain. Freed is still the one who's handling it and reading such news will give her somehow an idea on what he is doing

Even after her memories came back, he didn't understand Freed at all. His tricks, his schemes and his continuous pretention, she always hate it. But if she could have understood him more, these are just his way to keep on living.

And no matter how much she tried to reach out for him again, maybe that would just a mere delusion. Freed would never forgive her.

Habang nakapikit siya ay tumulo ang kanyang mga luha sabay napahawak siya sa kanyang dibdib. She couldn't imagine how he was able to endure to pain for all these years. When she was a kid she only wanted to keep his smile and show the true meaning of life but in the end, she failed and she was the one who attempted to end his life. That pain can't be cured by anything and she understands that maybe she became a painful memory to him a long time ago.
