Freed's Forever

    NAWALA ang pagod ni Annie pagpasok niya ng opisina niya nang makita niya ang dandelions sa vase malapit sa bintana.

    It hasn't been long ever since Gina started to take care of the flowers on her vase. Nang makalapit si Annie sa kanyang desk ay nakita niya ang isang box ng sandwich doon katabi ng bagong timplang kape ni Gina para sa kanya.

    "Mukhang sandwich po ang breakfast niyo ngayon," napalingon naman si Annie kay Gina.

    Napangiti si Annie at umupo sa kanyang swivel chair upang lantakan ang kanyang sandwich at ang kape niya.

    Bawat umaga ay mayroon siyang breakfast, coffee at bagong bulaklak sa kanyang vase. All thanks to Freed who is starting to be romantic.

    And whenever she enjoys her breakfast just like right now, it brings her back to that night...where something fateful happened...

    Nang gabing iyon ay hinatid nga siya ni Freed sa kanyang apartment. She was surprised that she even knew where she is living now. Lumipat na kasi ito sa mas malawak at mas malapit na apartment.

    Napatingin si Annie sa mga hawak ni Freed na plastic bag na kinalalagyan ng kanyang mga pinagbibili kanina. Akmang kukuhanin na niya sana ito ngunit hindi ibinigay ni Freed.

    "I hope you're still sober enough to remember me seeing you tonight...and whatever I am about to say."

    Ilang beses namang napakurap lamang si Annie at naghintay ng nais sabihin ni Freed. She never felt excited just like this. It has been a long time ever since she looked forward to whatever Freed is going to say.

    "I've been watching you these whole two years. It somehow felt that I am still close to you while you might have felt a distance. Inaamin kong isa sa mga dahilan kung bakita ako lumayo dahil hindi ko alam kung kaya ko bang magpatawad. I was confused of my emotions. I needed to figure it out on my own," he heaved a sigh as he look at her in the eyes.

    "I needed to know where this hatred is coming from and why I was living my whole life that way. I needed to know more about life...and this world."

    "Well, I haven't figured out that much but I've somehow realize everything that what happened to me. My hatred came from my realization that I wasn't love by anyone...and when I met you, that somehow changed but then you died. I couldn't accept a world without you..." kusang umangat ang isang kamay ni Freed at idinampi niya iyon sa pisngi ni Annie. Pumikit siya ang dinamdam ang init ng pisngi nito.

    "I'd like to keep on living while being guided by your warmth. But if you refuse, I won't hate you this time...I just want to let you know that I want to live my life having you as my light and hope."

    She was silenced and chose to stare at his face for longer as he cries in front of the man she loved the longest... For the man she was ready to die for.

     "Even...if I really did die, I will always be watching you," napahikbi si Annie at hinawakan ang kamay ni Freed na nakadampi sa kanyang pisngi. "I want to do everything with you. I wanted to grow up with you, I wanted to dream with you...and I wanted to have my every first with you," she relinquished all of the frustrations, longing and regrets that caged her heart from the past and until now.

    Perhaps, this moment now is once for a lifetime that she had to take, no matter what maybe the outcome or the risk she may take. Time has overrun both of their feelings, so many chances had been taken away and both of them have been inflicted by a wound of life's wickedness.
