You woke up. It was the first day of sixth year. You were ecstatic to not only start the new year and escape your lonely house and your thoughts but also to see Cedric. He was your light at the end of the tunnel. He was easy to talk to. He was the perfect best friend.

You got ready quickly and headed downstairs.

You were excited for a new year. Hopefully you would get a fresh-ish start. You hoped everyone forgot about what happened last year.

You and your dad got in the car and headed to King's Cross station. You guys walked through the wall between 9 3/4 as always this year without her but it's fine. It has to be, it's a new year. You were different now. You walked off onto the Hogwarts Express. You weaved your way into the Hufflepuff area. You saw Cedric with his friends he spotted you and a goofy smile spread across his face. He got out and you two walked to an empty table.

"Hey Effie how was your summer?" He says still with that idiotic smile.

You giggle and tell him about your summer. You two catch up and you catch your self dozing off. You open your eyes and see Cedric staring at you.

"What are you staring at lover boy?" Everyone called him that since he had a bit of a reputation with girls

"Your face" he said and smiled.

You just laughed at him and got up.

Everyone shipped you and Cedric. You knew why though. He was handsome and very flirty. You had thought about it but you were very unsure about boys. To be real you've never had a boyfriend. You have had your first kiss though. It was with Fred Weasley in 4th year. You try not to think about it. It was from a game of spin the bottle and while at the time you did like Fred you could tell you didn't mean anything to him. Back to Cedric though. You never liked him that way but this year it was a bit different. He grew handsome over the summer. You had only spent a few minutes with him yet you already felt a bit different.

"Watch yourself Diggory " you joked.

He laughed but something weird was with his face and laugh. You knew him well and could tell when something was wrong. You shrugged it off though. The train ride to Hogwarts was fun as always. You looked down the hallway at the Gryffindor seating the twins had pulled a prank.

"You know sometimes I wish I was sorted into Gryffindor you know like they have the twins, 'Mione, 'the chosen one' you giggle at the last one. For Harry being a chosen one he was so awkward and shy. Yeah he liked you at one point so maybe he was different around boys but it was funny.

"Hey but then you couldn't have all this" Cedric says pointing to himself up and down

You laugh and roll your eyes. The lady with the candy cart came down the aisle at the perfect timing for it to not get awkward.

"Two chocolate frogs please!" you say nicely.

The lady smiles at you and grabs two chocolate frogs. You take them and reach down for your wallet. Before you could get it Cedric payed for them.

"Hey! Cedric I can pay for myself. You always pay for me and I don't want to drown your bank account" You say

"No no no I don't want to hear any complaining. I'm just being a gentleman as I should." Cedric replied

"First of all it's not like we are on a date for you to be all gentlemanly and plus that burp earlier wasn't so gentleman like" You laughed

He laughed with a tint of pink on his face. You guys eat the chocolate frogs and talk for the rest of the train ride. You finally arrive to hogwarts.
